Our client is an insurance agency looking to fill in the position of a Principal Officer.


The overall responsibility is executing the company’s long-term vision and strategy, policies, development of business plans and company budgets. Duties and Responsibilities

To provide leadership and comprehensively manage the activities of the Brokerage firm;Source and secure new businesses, building and managing a customer portfolio;Plan, organize and coordinate day to day running of the companyEnsure new clients are provided with quotations and continuous follow up is in place;Respond to customer enquiries and handle customer claims;Handle all Insurance administrative duties;Undertake market research in order to identify and recommend competitive products and services    Liaise with the regulator and provide all necessary reports;Provide reports on the state of the business to senior management and the Board;Participate in the recruitment, training and management of departmental staff.Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff Communicating values, strategies, and objectivesAssigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; Accomplish subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; Allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.Gaining new business by identifying and exploiting opportunities in the local marketDeveloping and maintaining good working relationships with clients, primarily insurance Company and distributors.Increasing profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients to use added value services wherever possibleEnsuring credibility with clients by maintaining detailed knowledge of current market conditions and competitors' products;Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the Board and staff with the development of long range and annual plans and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans.Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.Ensure accountability to all stakeholdersAll other related duties.Bachelor of commerce degree from recognized university- Finance/ Banking/ Insurance optionDiploma in Insurance (AIIK or ACII)5-7 years experience in the insurance industry with extensive knowledge of marketing issues.Sound knowledge of the Insurance products and services and IRA regulations;High levels of professionalism, honest with impeccable integrity (high ethical standards);Good management ability with capacity to grow, support and develop talent within the subsidiary;Demonstrable business acumen and excellent communication, social and presentation skillsExceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to third parties and employeesAbility to meet reporting expectations of the Board, investors and statutory bodiesExcellent decision making skillsStrong leadership and team building skill and experience with the ability to develop and maintain a Management teamExcellent organization, delegation, performance management, administration, analytical, influencing, negotiation and time management skillsYoung, dynamic entrepreneurGo getters, not scared to roll up their sleeves & get their hands dirty.Well presentedIf you are up to the challenge, posses the necessary qualification and experience, please send your CV only quoting the job title on the email subject (Principal Officer- Insurance Agency) to jobs@corporatestaffing.co.ke before 7th June, 2014
