Impact 

Research  and  Development  Organization (IRDO –www.impact-rdo.org)

is  a  registered Kenyan  NGO  with  a 

main  office  in  Kisumu  and  regional 

offices  in  ten  counties.  

IRDO’s

principal  mandate is to  design, implement and  evaluate

HIV/AIDS research and intervention programs  that  improve 

the  health  status  of  individuals  and 

local  communities.  



We 

are looking for  qualified and  experienced  personnel to 

fill  in the  following positions within our VMMC Program, during the

April 2016 Mini-RRI, in 10 counties of Kenya.

VMMC Surgeons and Assistant Surgeons
 


Job 

Summary: 
Provide 

Voluntary  Medical  Male  Circumcision  (VMMC) 

services,  screen  and treat Sexually Transited Infections, in the

targeted sub-counties.

  • Diploma

    in Clinical Medicine and Surgery / Nursing.

  • Registered

    with relevant professional body and has a valid practicing license

  • Must

    have at least one year’s experience in a busy health facility.

  • Should 

    have  training  and  practical  experience 

    in  Voluntary  Medical  Male Circumcision.

  • Knowledge

    on HIV/AIDS care and treatment is an added advantage.

  • Ability

    to diagnose and treat Sexually Transmitted Infections.

  • Must 

    be  pleasant,  have  good  communication 

    and  leadership  skills;  and  willing  to work

    under pressure.


Job

Summary: 
Provide

VMMC counseling, consenting and HTS
 

  • Certificate

    in HIV Counseling and testing from a recognized institution.

  • Trained

    on HTC new algorithm

  • Should

    have training and practical experience in VMMC counseling

  • Must 

    be  pleasant,  have  good  communication 

    skills  and  willing  to  work  under pressure.


Infection Prevention Officers

Summary: 
Sterilize 

surgical  instruments  for  Voluntary  Medical 

Male  Circumcision  and clean the office

    have training and practical experience in infection prevention and control

  • Must 

    be  pleasant,  have  good  communication  skills

Job  summary: Provide  technical  support 

in  the  planning,  design  and  implementation 

of  an  M&E system  that  will  enable 

the  organization  track  accomplishment  of  activities 

and  their  impact  on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.
 


Reporting to: Human

Resource Manager
 


Job Summary: Perform variety of human resource support duties.
 


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process, verify,  and  maintain

    documentation  relating to  personnel activities  such

    as  staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance

    evaluations, and classifications.

  • Assists in informing new employees of human

    resource policies and programs as needed

  • Oversees the human resource database. Ensures

    that system records are accurately recorded and cross-checked.

  • Enters new hire information in the human

    resource syst em database.

  • Tracks and resolves problems and checks system

    operations as scheduled.

  • Ensures  that  human 

    resource  files  and  records  are 

    maintained  in  accordance  with  legal requirements

    and Company policies and procedures.

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar

    position.

  • Must be a registered member of a professional

    body.

  • Must have sound knowledge of the new labour

    laws.

  • Good  communication  and 

    interpersonal  skills,  decision  making  skills 

    and  proficiency  in computer application packages.


Job Summary: Reports to ICT Officer. Support the ICT Officer in

a range of activities; assist in the development  and 

implementation  of  technical  systems  and 

equipment,  manage  MIS  and  data systems as well as

support service delivery in other working locations.
 


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install,  configure  and 

    troubleshooting  IT  equipment  –  Servers, 

    PCs,  Laptops,  routers, switches, Smart phones, Tablets,

    Projectors, digital cameras.

  • Perform  preventive 

    maintenance  on  various  IT  equipment 

    and  software  –  Laptops,  PCs, Servers, APs,

    Printers,

  • Capture  all  user requests 

    as  they come  in  via  phone or email on the 

    incidents management system and ensuring users get updates on the status

    and progress of their requests

  • Liaise  with  vendors  to 

    ensure  that  company  equipment  are 

    serviced  and  maintained  as  per SLAs, and annual

    schedules

  • Supporting  roll  out  of 

    new  applications  and  hardware  as  well 

    as  maintaining  inventory  of organization’s IT ha rdware

    and software

  • Develop and updating IT policies/procedures on

    security, configurations, tests, patches, etc.

  • Diploma in ICT or Bachelor’s degree in

    Computer Science or related discipline

  • A+, N+, MCSE or CCNA certification would be an

    added advantage

  • Two (2) years IT experience

  • Knowledge  of  website 

    design  and  development,  Android 

    Technologies,  Smart  Phones, LAN/WAN  and  WIFI 

    configurations  with  experience  in  Cisco 

    routers,  switches,  internet firewalls and wireless

    technologies

  • Planning  and  organizing 

    skills,  analytical,  writing,  oral 

    communication  and  excellent interpersonal skills.


Position: Outreach Worker
 


Job Summary: To coordinate and mobilize Key Populations 

activities at  the Wellness Centre and Hotspots through the peer led

education model and during community outreaches /targeted forums.
 


Reports to: The

Wellness Centre Coordinator
 


Location: Based

in  Kisii Central Sub-county, with frequent field visits  to outreach

sites and hotspots within the county.
 


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, update and oversee the implementation

    of Peer Educators Work Plans/Action Plans.

  • Ensure that program activities including

    community outreaches, peer review meetings, one on one sessions and

    trainings are carried out according to the Global Fund/Kenya Red Cross

    guidelines and with due diligence and targets met.

  • Ensure  that  correct 

    information  is  relayed  to  beneficiaries, 

    SCHMTs  and  other  stakeholders  in  a timely

    manner.

  • Prepare  and  submit 

    progress  reports  at  required  intervals;  and 

    represent  IRDO  at  relevant meetings.

  • Regularly report to the Wellness Centre

    Coordinator as and when required.


Minimum Qualifications and

Competencies:

  • Should have a Diploma in Social Work,

    community development or related field.

  • Must  have  at  least 

    2  years  experience  coordinating  Key 

    Population  intervention  programs, preferably  in 

    a  similar  project/related  project;  must 

    have  experience  with  Peer  Educators

    supervision.  

  • Knowledge  and experience  of

    implementing Peer led sessions  with  Key  population 

    is added advantage

  • Must be honest; and well organized.

  • Ability  to  multi-task; 

    good  writing  and  presentation  skills; 

  • communication skills  and 

    teamwork;  

  • able  to  travel  long 

    distances;  

  • can work  long  hours, 

    including  weekends  and public holidays when necessary (and at

    night during moonlight outreaches.); 

  • proficient in Microsoft Office packages;

    experience with stakeholder management.
