Main Purpose of the Job: Leading

in implementation of general and medical underwriting strategy to achieve

profitability and specific departmental goals in line with overall business

objectives.



  • Leading

    in the implementation and monitoring general, bonds and medical

    underwriting strategy, policies, processes and procedures to support

    achievement of overall business objectives.

  • Developing,

    implementing and proposing amendments to the section’s standard operating

    procedures 

  • Ensuring

    that all policies/risks that have been ACCEPTED are compliant to

    reinsurance treaty programmes, Regulators guidelines and company

    underwriting guidelines.

  • Approving

    and confirming cover up to treaty capacity

  • Proposing

    changes to the treaties to reinsurance department in line with market

    demand.

  • Approving

    underwriting expenditure up to set limits

  • Analyzing

    and approving quotations including rating discounts as per set limits.

  • Appointing

    risk surveyors and vehicle valuers in line with company guidelines

  • Reviewing

    panel of service providers

  • Recommending

    revision of existing insurance policy terms and conditions and new

    products

  • Reviewing

    and approving of underwriting documents i.e. policy documents, endorsements

    up to set limits

  • Preparing,

    monitoring and Analyzing underwriting reports and making recommendations

  • Identifying,

    implementing and benchmarking best practices  in management

  • Ensuring

    customer service to both internal and external clients by providing required

    underwriting documents

  • Talent

    management including coaching, mentoring, developing, training and

    evaluating staff in the underwriting department to achieve highest level

    of performance

  • Managing

    and implementing change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and

    culture

Job Summary: Implementing general underwriting strategy to

achieve profitability and specific departmental goals in line with overall

departmental objectives.

  • Proposing amendments of  the section’s

    standard operating procedures 

  • Ensuring that all policies/risks that have

  • Monitoring Premium Finance process and Bank

    refund on default

  • Recommending renewal terms and compiling

    renewal reports

  • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking

    best practices  in management

  • Ensuring customer service to both internal and

Job Summary:


 Implementation of accounting policies, processes

and procedures in line with the overall business strategy and objectives in

matters relating to collection of premiums and management of branch expenses.

  • Issuing of receipts for cash and cheques and

    ensuring they are dispatched to clients

  • Collecting and ensuring that the daily

    collection is reviewed by the Branch Manager/Branch Representative and

    sent to Head Office

  • Banking and sending all relevant documents to

    Head Office as per Company policy.

  • Reconciliation of statements
