We World (formerly Intervita) is an Italian-based independent, non-sectarian and nonpartisan organization. Funded in Milan in 1999, and present in Asia, Latin America and Africa, started working in Kenya in 2009 to improve the living conditions of the population living in the poorest areas of the country.
In all its projects and through the involvement of the entire community, We World operates with the main objective of tackling the causes and consequences of poverty through a right-based approach.
We World office in Nairobi is currently looking for a Driver for the new office in Migori County to support the logistics and to to deliver people and goods with total safety and reliability.

Responsibilities and Tasks
The driver will provide logistical support to the following operations:
• Vehicle maintenance: Ensure that the vehicles are kept tidy, clean and in good working condition;
• Preventive maintenance: Update vehicle services schedule, perform early diagnosis for any defects and arrange for the service/repairs to be done at pre-selected service providers (dealers or garage);
• Driving: Adhere to safe driving practices and maintain a high standard of service whilst observing road traffic laws and regulations;
• Provide safe and reliable transportation to staff within various project sites;
• Liaise with the service providers to ensure that the vehicles’ service/repair work is satisfactory;
• Ensure that all vehicles are insured, booking vehicles for inspection and ensuring that relevant stickers are in place;
• Safeguard all the contents in the vehicles;
• Ensure personal compliance with the Traffic Act;
• Report any accidents/incidents involving the vehicles in custody;
• Supplies: Facilitate collection of quotations for office supplies and deliveries;
• Work closely with the finance and administrative officer and project coordinator and ensure support in purchasing items, paying bills, collecting parcels, etc.;
• General assistance: Pick up; drop offs for staff and visitors;
• Perform errands including delivering official documents;
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
• At least 5 years’ experience as driver in rural areas
• Previous experience with NGOs
• K.C.S.E Certificate with a mean grade of C- (Minus) and above
• Valid driver’s licence
• Knowledge of the intervention area (Nyamira County) is an asset
• Basic mechanical and experience with oil changes and minor repair work
• Proficient spoken and written English (spoken Swahili and Ekegusii is an advantage

Type Contract: 1 year contract renewable (after 3 months of successful probation period)
