Head Chef Job in Kenya (80K)




Our client, who provide integrated, customised and adaptable solutions in Facility Management, Supply Chain and Logistics is looking to recruit a Head Chef



The ideal candidate will use his/her knowledge and experience to lead a team of staff and efficiently run a kitchen.

Key Responsibilities;



  • Planning menus.

  • Orders of food stock appropriate to sales levels and not over ordered.

  • Controls wastage and records / reports all wastage.

  • Ensure all food is presented for service in a timely manner and in correct sequence.

  • Monitors & control stock levels – daily, weekly and monthly ensuring there are no shortfalls.

  • All stock is secure and no loss of stock.

  • Staff Food policy is followed with no unauthorized food leaving the kitchen.

  • Ensure that the storage of food meets company and statutory health and safety requirements.

  • Deal with any customer returned food in a timely manner.

  • Comply & implement all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements

  • Controlling a budget and keeping accurate records.

  • Organising the staff duty rota.

  • Train and develop the team to deliver food to specification.

  • Training and recruitment of kitchen team members in line with company & statutory requirements.


Qualifications;


  • Diploma/degree in catering business or a related field.

  • 3 years experience as a head chef in a high class restaurant.

  • Good knowledge of HACCP and HACCP Certificate.

  • Self motivated, honest and open in communication.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have multicultural food preparation ability.

  • Good knowledge in hygiene and sanitation.


Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 80,000/= plus incentive (Approx. 800 USD)
