Job description:
Product Marketing Manager: Africa – Lighting (Consumer Luminaires)Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Purpose:
Reporting to the General Manager Consumer Lighting Africa, part of the Africa Market Consumer Lighting headcount.
The product Marketing Manager works in close co-ordination with the districts, district marketing managers and district Business Development managers.
Formulating, implementing and reviewing strategies/plans for Consumer Luminaires across all consumer channels (modern retail and trade), and driving execution of the deployed programs, pricing, etc. together with the district teams.
Responsible for proper introduction and managing lifecycle (phase-in/out) of products for Africa districts.
To identify local consumer needs and business opportunities into product requirements and roadmap requests.
Actively supporting channel management with product expertise
Responsibilities Accountable for CL results (Sales, Margin, Growth, Mkt. Share)
Accountable for Product life cycle management leading to growth: sales, margin, share
Formulate, implement and review Product introduction plan for the districts in line with the AOP and strategic plan. Integral MIP coordination.
Ensure demand plan is net balanced with supply and submitted in time for the forecast cycle co-coordinating with Supply chain, Sales and Marketing.
Drive execution of deployed programs, promotions, pricing, etc. across consumer channels.
Identify business opportunities, including new products, portfolio optimization, etc., and recommend action plans.
Act as the key bridge between the product managers in BU and the sales organizations in the districts.
Concretely it means for product marketer that:
1) Maintain a good overview of the product roadmaps and introductions schedules in consultation with BU.
2) Supply input to quality control when complaints, etc. are received
3) Is a point of contact for product issue that can’t be resolved locally
We are looking for
Matric / Grade 12 or SAQA Accredited Equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Businesses Administration or Technical Discipline or SAQA Accredited Equivalent
Minimum 4-6 years consumer product marketing experience in a large international company, ideally with a lighting background.
Business Management background
Proven track record in building business by managing life cycle of huge number of sku’s.
Strong understanding of Lifestyle and Home improvement market. Retail Management exposure preferred.
Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
Entrepreneurial with a great “can do” attitude.
