Chief of Party – The Resilience Learning Project, East Africa

Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont (www.tetratechintdev.com) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Chief of Party candidates for the anticipated Resilience Learning Project in East Africa. 

This 5-year project will support regional and government agencies by expanding the base from which knowledge and lessons are gathered. The projects objective is mutual learning and knowledge management among strategic partners which will lead to a supportive policy environment and increased impacts of programming on drought resilience and growth.
This position will be full time and is likely to be based out of Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities:
Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction for the project;Serve as primary liaison with donors, host-country and regional government officials, and international and regional implementing partners;Coordinate and oversee contract management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, including compliance with USAID regulations and timely submission of all project deliverables;Supervise project technical and administrative staff, collaboratively creating and implementing a strategic long-term vision for the project while effectively mitigating risk and managing performance;Build linkages between multiple diverse stakeholders at local, national, and regional levelsOversee data collection, research and analysis, knowledge management, and capacity building activities; Incorporate gender issues key to achieving growth and resilience across continuumsAt least a Master’s degree in applied social sciences, development economics, natural resource management, business administration or a related field;Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing resilience-enhanced programs or working in pastoralist, environment and natural resource management, or recurrent drought and conflict areas, preferably in Kenya and Ethiopia;USAID experience required;Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking/planning, management, and presentation skills;Strong multi-cultural, inter-personal and supervision skills.Considerable academic credentials and experience in organizational capacity development, knowledge management as well as managing group dynamics and high-performing teams;Significant expertise in monitoring and evaluation;Experience living and working in the Horn of Africa preferred;Fluency in English required.To be considered applicants must submit the following as part of the on-line process:Cover LetterCV in reverse chronological formatReference ListNo phone calls will be accepted.
