Nuru Kenya’s Monitoring and Evaluation Team is actively seeking a highly qualified and energetic team player for its Data Entry and Analysis Team.  The Data  Manager may be staffed internally from Nuru Kenya staff or externally as determined by the M&E District Manager in coordination with the hiring panel consisting of the M&E Project Facilitator, Research and Advising Manager and the Director of Nuru Kenya.  


Contract specification will be in accordance with those established in the employment contract. 

This job description is a complement to the employment contract and serves as a baseline for performance evaluations conducted every 6 months.  The employee is responsible for acknowledging and understanding the duties bestowed.

Roles and Responsibilities


Performs preliminary analysis of data including: creation of tables, charts, graphs, etc., using Excel, STATA or SPSS.Creation of data entry templates, etc. using Excel.Works with Research and Advising Manager, Database Manager,  Data Entry Specialist,  Data Analysis Manager and Data Entry Clerks to create feedback loop on internal M&E processesManages casual workers assisting in data entry.Assists in survey implementation and data collection as neededPerforms data entry and data quality control checks (data cleaning).Ensures data storage through creation of backup folders.Reports to Data Analysis Manager.Additional roles as assigned by supervisor


Qualifications and Education Requirements


Has completed a diploma in Computer Science or IT related course.At least 2 years’ experience managing large amount of data.Fluent in written and spoken English (mandatory), Kiswahili (mandatory) and Kikuria (preferred) Has effective project management and communications skillsCan work in office or field setting Long-term commitment to ending extreme poverty in rural Kenya   Can work for long periods of time At least 1 year experience surveying households or individuals Applicants must currently live in Kuria West District or be willing to relocate for this position.  Relocation pay, monetary support for family relocation, housing and housing allowance, food allowance and commuter transport allowance will not be provided.
Compensation: commensurate with experience
