Our main goal is to help people free themselves from poverty. For this purpose we support integrated programs in sexual reproductive health and rights focusing on youth empowerment, advocacy, and capacity building of local partners.The National Team Coordinator – Admin & HR implements practices and activities of the Human Resources (HR) Office in Kenya providing a full spectrum of services and programs linked to short and long-term organizational needs and objectives.
S(He) is the link between the International Team Manager dealing with strategic and policy issues on an international DSW overall level and the operationalization at country office level.As such the National Team Coordinator - Admin & HR is part of the DSW Administration and HR team as well as the respective CO department. (S)He works closely with the ITM-AHR and the national team coordinators of the other country offices in this field. (S)He works in close cooperation with the Finance & Admin manager and other national team coordinators in the CO to ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day implementation of administrative and HR processes.
(S)He will lead HR contributions, including HR Capacity and Infrastructure, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and New Business Development.
(S)He will ensure workforce planning and staffing, promote and sustain employee productivity and retention, to assigned business and development opportunities. (S)He will, manage delivery of recruiting and staffing, competitive employee benefits and salary programs, employee relations advice and counsel, performance management, and project start up and closure activities. (S)He will also develop and implement staffing initiatives for the success of the DSW Kenya office, in Kenya office management staff. In addition, he or she will be required to manage Administrative staff and facilitate procurement.General areas of responsibility:
Ensure in close cooperation with the Department Manager F&A that day to day administrative and HR processes are organized effectively and conducted in line with DSW’s regulations as well as in compliance with national regulations in this area.Ensure the implementation of administrative and HR related services, policies and programs (incl. recruiting, contracts, logistics, procurement etc.) within the COProvide procurement support including coordinating prequalification of suppliersMaintain DSW's asset register in collaboration with FinanceProvide technical support and monitor the Administration and HR staff including the development of clear goals and targetsSupport in developing training and coaching programmes for CO staffAdvise the Department Manager F&A and Country Director about HR issuesJointly with Department Manager F&A, represents DSW overall perspectives and interests to external and internal stakeholders Any other duties assigned by the supervisorSupervision of AHR staff in his/her area of responsibility (if applicable)Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent relevant experience and significant experience in human resources, including recruitment and personnel management requiredAt least 3 years HR working experience in an international program in Kenya or East Africa and, demonstrated experience working with multi-donor funded programs is strongly preferredDemonstrated understanding of the Kenyan Labor laws, Company Act, NGO Act and other relevant lawsDemonstrated ability to implement and manage all aspects of the HR function in line with current practices and trendsDemonstrated ability to gain the trust and confidence of colleagues and to handle confidential matters discreetly and have experience in conflict resolution helpfulAbility to competently assess priorities; manage a variety of complex activities simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment, and meet competing deadlinesInter-personal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff, clients, and consultantsDemonstrated ability to successfully coordinate activities with project management staff and proven ability to work successfully on a team in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent oral and written communication skills in English and SwahiliDSW is an equal opportunity employer.
