The Director, Liaison Services shall be based in Nairobi, and shall be the official Contact Person for the County Government, responsible for coordination of activities, and also undertake a variety of tasks that will ultimately provide a high level of administrative support to the County Government. 

She/he will be answerable to the Governor.
Duties and responsibilities include:

Coordinating activities with National and County Government and other agencies;Providing protocol support and public relations services,Identifying investment opportunities with local and overseas investors;Planning, managing, documenting and disseminating on Count Government affairs;Implementing activities and assignment relating to maintaining and enhancing the image of the County;Preparing itineraries and agendas for County Government officials and guests;Planning and conducting official County Government events;Advising on current and future events that are beneficial to the Turkana County Government and providing periodic reports;Ensuring compliance with the values and principles as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010);Provide assistance in drafting of County Government bilateral agreements, budget agreements, or contributions for grants or other activities as appropriate;Coordinate with service units and liaises with internal team members both at Liaison office - Nairobi and in the field;Advise County staff on travel visa matters;Organize and provide logistical support for workshops and meetings for County Government staff taking place in Nairobi;Making accommodation and travel arrangements, liaising with participants and service providers;Facilitating business/formal appointments for Turkana County Government officials and guests,Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Governor.For appointment to this position, a candidate must;Be a Kenyan citizenSatisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010,Have knowledge ,experience and distinguished career of not less than ten (10) years in senior managerial position in the specific area, either in the Government or a busy organization with International repute;Have a bachelors degree from a University recognized in Kenya in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communication, Public Relation, Communications Studies, Journalism, Policy Formulation, Strategic Planning ,International Relations, Social Sciences or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a University recognized in Kenya;A relevant masters will be an added advantage;Understands diversity within the County;Be a person of high integrity, motivated and a team player;Proficiency in relevant computer applications;Contract. Salary scale: Kshs. 89,748 - 144, 928, p.m. House Allowance Kshs. 40,000 p.m. Other allowances: 16,000 pm.Written applications, CV’s, copies of certificates, testimonials and Identity Card should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the left side the position being applied for and addressed to:
