Regional (Area) Sales Managers Jobs in Kenya (Grain Processing)




Our Client – a successful international world leader company in grain processing technology; that specializes in delivering efficient and controlled technology processes, equipment and plants for handling and storing crops; is seeking to hire Regional (Area) Sales Managers to join their competitive business development team to grow the market in Africa.
 



The yearly turnover is approx. Kshs.400m. With the parent company making a strategic investment in East Africa, this is expected to double within a few years, subsequently the need to hire competent business development to handle this expansion effectively.
 



Main Duties and Responsibilities:



 



New Business Development (50%)


  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

  • Tendering competitively for the projects to ensure win

  • Negotiating, with the different parameters in mind

  • Signing on behalf of the organization

  • Customer Relationship Manager

  • Managing key relationships in Accounts


Market Intelligence


  • Market research on new markets

  • Market research on new products and opportunity areas

  • Constantly engaging with clients to build a database of formal and informal market intelligence on accounts

  • New technology research for business


Supplier Management Team


  • Sourcing for business partners and vendors for solution delivery

  • Managing our agency contracts performance targets

  • Review of contractual agreements with the principals

  • Liaising with our principals signing of contractual principals


Contract Bidding


  • Be able to negotiate and secure suitable contracts for the company, in liaison with our legal advisors

  • Prepare bid documents and submissions

  • Have uniformity in contractual elements throughout the business, as per the policy e.g. NDA.s and MOU,s templates

  • Drafting and /or reviewing of documents that are directly concerned with contract agreements. E.g. Non- disclosure agreements


Sales Team Management
 



Business Plan and Budget; Business Planning & Budget control
 



Strategic Input – Liaison with Head of Sales. Assist in the development of strategic plans for Commercial and operational activity. Implement and manage commercial business plans.Candidate 



Skills and Competencies;


  • Relevant degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering

  • Must have a successful track record as a pre-sales engineer and or sales

  • Cross border selling experience necessary 

  • Previous experience in a similar environment an added advantage 

  • Knowledge of grain handling machineries, complete processing lines, large turnkey projects required

  • Strong management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • 5 plus years of extensive experience in a related field

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Analytical and organized

  • Good financial understanding

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

  •  Project development and oversight experience

  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace

  • Excels at operating in an fast pace, environment

  • Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done

  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
