Position: Grant Accountant


Reporting To: Grants

and Accounts Manager
 


Duration: Renewable 2 Years Contract
 


Job Purpose: The main purpose of this position is to provide

support to the finance division in preparation of financial statements and

grant reports ensuring compliance with grant agreements
 


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly financial management reports

  • Compilation of timely and accurate grant

    financial statements for a range of donors

  • Preparing grant budgets in liaison with

    program staff as per donor requests

  • Ensuring payments and receipts are captured

    correctly

  • Monitoring of grant budgets, expenditures and

    forecasts of future needs

  • Maintaining frequent communication with

    program staff on budget status

  • Reviewing of monthly financial management

    reports to ensure that items are being charged correctly as per programs

    and contract agreements

  • Regular monitoring of sub-partner budgets and

    expenditure levels ensuring compliance with contract agreements

  • Maintenance of updated inventory and fixed

    assets register


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related

    preferably accounting or finance

  • Accountancy qualification CPA (K) or ACCA

  • At least 4 years work experience in accounts

    or audit with experience in book keeping and preparation of complete

    financial statements

  • Grant management experience preferably in an

    NGO setting

  • Good working knowledge of computer packages

    and accounting software preferably Great Plains Dynamics

  • Meticulous and attentive to details with wide

    experience in developing budgets

Position: Clinical Officer


Reporting To: Care In Charge
 


Duration: Renewable

2 Years Contract
 


Job Purpose: The clinical officer will be a member of the LVCT

Health clinical team with the role of providing HIV/AIDS and related treatment

services to all patients and clients.


The clinical officer will ensure that

the optimal standard of care is achieved in the LVCT Health HIV clinic and

other outreach services to ensure quality in service provision in line with

national guidelines, patient satisfaction and good clinical outcomes.



Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Clinical management of clients attending the

    care and treatment clinic

  • Performing medical consultations for OI’s and

    Antiretroviral therapy (ARVs) for PLWHA and Post exposure prophylaxis for

    at risk groups

  • Providing adherence counseling and PWP to

    clients attending the clinic

  • Ensuring that the optimal standard of care is

    achieved by establishing and maintaining the use of nationally approved

    clinical guidelines and protocols and with the help of the care manager,

    updating your knowledge of HIV/AIDs management using evidence based

    practice

  • History taking and physical examination of

    clients

  • Counsel clients on compliance to treatment

  • Implementation of clinical aspects of Positive

    Health Dignity and Prevention program in the care and treatment clinic

  • Ensure Integration of Services within the

    Prevention Site

  • Timely preparation and submission of Clinic

    Program Progress Reports.

  • Documentation of program work

  • Take lead in documentation and follow up of

    clinic clients including TB patients

  • Provide regular feedback/updates to care staff

    and site in charge on work related concerns

  • Communication to clients on issues that

    concern them.

  • Continuous mentorship of clinical staff,

    including nurses and counselors on clinical management of clients

  • Ensure participation and contribution to

    capacity building of clinical and other staff through CMEs, Sensitization

    and Updates

  • Provide information, education and

    communication to clients and their families in the clinic through support

    groups, health talks and educational materials like pamphlets

  • Support delivery of other clinical duties

    (e.g. triage, nutrition) when required

  • Support in delivery of outreach services

    including STI diagnosis and treatment for general and at risk populations.

  • Up to date record keeping and management of

    clients’ data

  • Support in submission of reports to relevant

    authorities in a timely manner


Required Skills and Experience

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine/Surgery

  • A registered member with the clinical

    officer’s council

  • At least three (3) years work experience in a

    busy Comprehensive Care Clinic or relevant sector

  • Good understanding of HIV in Kenya environment

  • Experience in working with the Government of

    Kenya guidelines, standards, tools and best practices

  • Good data management and report writing skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in clinical

    mentorship or support supervision in MOH settings will be an added

    advantage


Reporting To: Care in Charge

Job Purpose: To provide HIV/AIDS and related treatment services

at the LVCT Health clinic as a member of the clinical team. 


The nurse will ensure adherence to

the highest standards of care in the clinic and provide preventive, curative,

rehabilitative and supportive nursing care to individuals, families or groups

and participate in health promotion. 


The nurse will also play an

instrumental role in ensuring infection prevention practices are maintained and

nursing services are optimal.



Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out initial assessment and triage of

    all patients attending the clinic and instituting a fast track system in

    line with the standard operating procedure

  • Performing clinical consultations for clients

    attending the care and treatment clinic under the supervision of the

    Clinical Officer and/or Medical Officer

  • Provision of sexual reproductive health

    services to clients and ensure effective referrals

  • Ensuring implementation of infection

    prevention and control guidelines in the clinic

  • Provide regular feedback/updates to care staff

    and site in-charge on work related concerns

  • Ensuring timely compilation and submission of

    all clinic reports as required

  • Undertaking regular documentation of program

    activities and outcomes through technical briefs, abstracts and best

    practice documentation

  • Leadership in documentation of index client

    follow up through Partner and Family testing

  • Providing information, education and

    communication to clients and their families in the clinic through support

    groups, health talks or educational materials like pamphlets

  • Supporting in delivery of other clinical

    duties (e.g. nutrition, adherence) when required.

Job Purpose: The

M & E Manager will provide leadership and oversight in development and

implementation of the institutional M&E frameworks and systems. 


This includes identifying M&E

needs, designing and maintaining data collection, data management, analysis and

utilization of systems for routine and other programme data.
 


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support institutional annual operational

    planning processes and ensure on time production of the institutional work

    plan

  • Monitor institutional results as documented in

    the institutional work plan and provide feedback to programmes

  • Implement a framework, methodology,

    procedures, and responsibilities for monitoring and evaluating program

    performance in accordance with the reporting requirements and to

    synchronize programme decision making with M&E results

  • Ensure implementation of the data flow for

    routine data, on time data entry, analysis, feedback to programmes and

    reporting

  • Provide on-going M&E technical support to

    programmes and proposal writing processes

  • Provide leadership in data analysis and

    contribute to publications

  • Together with the ICT division, update and

    maintain data house and other IT systems that will allow for regular and

    ongoing aggregation, analysis and reporting of data

  • Ensure that all M&E processes adhere to

    institutional , contractual, and donor standards;

  • Lead the writing and dissemination of

    quarterly programme performance reports

  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in

    M&E and network with other organisations for best practices and

    technical assistance

  • Participate in national M&E and other

    relevant policy meetings and provide recommendations for LVCT

  • Provide M&E training and on-going

    assistance to M & E team and sub-partners.

  • Perform statistical data analysis and assist

    in writing-up results from analysis

  • Design databases for service data and research

    projects and be involved in data entry as required and manage the

    databases

  • Update/create and document data dictionaries

    and other relevant data files

    research programs

    motivating and evaluating staffs


Required Skills and Experience

  • A Master’s degree in statistics, monitoring

    and evaluation, social sciences or relevant field from a recognized

    university

  • At least 5 years demonstrated M&E

    experience at management level in an NGO with multiple programmes.

    Experience with PEPFAR programmes will be an advantage

  • Demonstrated programme evaluation experience

  • Statistical training will be an added

    advantage

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative

    research methods and in database management

  • Sound understanding of evaluation standards

    and methodologies

  • Excellent analytical, report writing,

    communication, presentation, interpersonal and supervision skills

  • Critical thinking, decision making and problem

    solving skills

Position: Youth Programme Coordinator

Job Purpose:
 The Youth Programme Coordinator will be responsible

for oversight and coordination of LVCT Health’s youth program that comprises of

the one2one digital platform, adolescent and youth groups, provide technical

support to programs to identify and provide appropriate services to adolescent

and youth (10-24 years) and initiate and participate in policy and advocacy to

enhance scale up of appropriate services to youth.



Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development and management of the One2one

    Integrated Digital Platform components that includes website, face book,

    twitter, word press, you tube, bulk sms and emails content;

  • Identifying and maintaining partnerships for

    the program with:


1.   
Relevant government

departments/ministries/counties for visibility, buy in and support for

implementation including organizing program visits


2.   
Strategic private sector partners for

Private Public Partnership projects, expansion and local funding


3.   
Identification of population specific

partners such as key populations serving organizations, DPOs and youth serving

organizations to leverage resources, mobilization of populations and joint bids

among other things.

  • Identifying and representing LVCT health in

    relevant policy forums to review and develop policies specific to the

    adolescents and youth

  • In partnership with regional managers

    coordinate engagement with county government to implement youth policies

  • Ensuring program reporting is done regularly

    and accurately, internally and to relevant external stakeholders

  • Ensuring timely and quality donor reporting

  • Utilizing program reports and analyzed data to

    inform adolescents and youth program improvement

  • Providing regular feedback to other divisions

    and regional teams on the program performance and areas of improvement

  • Preparing and disseminating youth program

    documents as a way of maintaining the programme and organizational

    visibility in relevant county, national, regional and international forums

    and mechanisms.

  • Supporting the capacity building, training,

    mentorship and supervision of service providers, one2one hotline team,

    regional youth focal persons, youth outreach mobilizers, service providers

    and LVCT’s sub partners targeting adolescents and youth to ensure that

    they are well placed to deliver quality services.

  • Providing technical assistance to develop,

    implement, monitor and periodically review the one2one integrated digital

    platform ensuring relevance, functionality, a unique voice and clear lead

    in utilization of digital spaces for adolescent and youth programming.

  • Ensuring inter-divisional/regional linkages

    between the youth programme and other divisions and regions within LVCT

    Health and ensure that the interests of vulnerable youth are addressed

    within the institutional programming.

  • Responsible for managing the digital platform

    and updating one2one website content regularly


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in health and/or development

    sciences (Sociology, gender Development studies, Anthropology, Economics

    or related field).

  • Minimum 4 years work experience in HIV/SRH/GBV

    programming for youth including adolescents, girls and young women.

  • Experience in project cycle management

    including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation

  • Experience in working with digital platforms

    including mobile and web solutions for messaging and development

  • Experience in writing proposals and reports

  • Ability to organize work of self and others

    effectively, carry out thorough planning, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Be flexible, adaptable and dynamic.


Position: Human Resources and Administration Officer 


Reporting To: Human

Resources and Administration Manager

Job Purpose: The HR & Admin Officer will be responsible for

providing support in the various human resource functions, which include

recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance management and

employee counseling.
 


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the HR Manager in design,

    development and delivery of strategic and operational HR services in the

    organisation

  • Assisting in staff recruitment by reviewing

    job descriptions, drafting advertisements, shortlisting, preparing

    documentation for interviews, conducting interviews, candidates placement

    and orientation

  • Implementing HR policies, practices and

    procedures while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory

    requirements

  • Building capacity of the coordination team to

    understand and implement HR policies, guidelines and practices

  • Carrying out staffing audits, identifying

    staffing gaps, recruitment, selection and placement of staff

  • Working with program managers to address HR,

    administrative and staffing needs for various projects

  • Preparing institutional quarterly HR

    newsletters

  • Performing administrative roles in management

    of the organisation’s medical insurance and pension scheme while ensuring

    correct and up to date information is availed to staff

  • Maintaining up to date and accurate staff and

    institutional records in the HRMS software and manual filling system

  • Maintaining an up to date database of all full

    time, contract and short term staff

  • Handling employee relations issues, dealing

    with grievances and implementing agreed on disciplinary procedures

  • Support HR Manager in review of performance

    management guidelines, HR policies and other institutional staff

    guidelines

  • Retaining up to date records of institutional

    assets and managing their issuance and insurance

  • HRMS administration and staff training on

    usage of self-care modules

  • Conducting staff exit interviews and

    facilitating effective staff clearance, documentation and release from the

    organisation

  • Handling staff welfare matters

    Administrative reports

    and hospitality staff


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in health Business

    Management/ Social Sciences or a related field

  • A post graduate diploma in Human Resource

    Management

  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of

    Kenyan labour laws and Statutory returns

  • Minimum 4 years work experience in a busy HR

    office preferably in an NGO

  • Computer literacy and ability to use a

    recognised Human Resource Information System

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all
