Finance and Administration Director Job Vacancy




The Kenya School of Government (KSG)

was established under the Kenya School of Government Act (No. 9 of 2012). 


The School is the successor of the

former Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA), Kenya Development and Learning

Centre (KDLC) and the Government Training Institutes (GTIs). 

The mandate of the School is to

provide learning and development programs that enhance skills and competencies

in the public service; conduct research; and offer consultancy services to

inform public policy.
 



The School seeks to recruit highly

qualified and competent Kenya citizens to fill the following vacant position:
Director, Finance and Administration

Reporting to the Director General, the Director Finance and Administration will

be Head of the finance and administration Division in the School.




The appointee will be responsible for

planning, organizing, directing and coordinating finance, accounting and

administration services of the School and its campuses.



Duties and responsibilities:
 


The successful candidate will be

responsible for:

  • Coordination and supervision of finance,

    accounting, human resource and administration services

  • Establishment and implementation of policy

    frameworks for attracting, motivating, developing and retaining staff

  • Prudent management and utilization of

    resources

  • Development, review and implementation of

    policies, systems, and procedures

  • Formulation of School budget

  • Compliance with statutory reporting

    requirements

  • Generation of information for management

    decision-making

  • Safe custody of official records and documents


  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on

    overall performance of the School, and

  • Other duties assigned by the Director General


The ideal candidate will have:

  • the Master’s Degree in Business

    Administration, Finance, Accounting, or its equivalent from a recognized

    university

  • the Certified Public Accountants, Kenya

    (CPA-K) qualification

  • membership of the Institute of Certified

    Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing

  • a certified qualification in Leadership and

    Management course lasting at least four weeks (Other relevant professional

    qualifications will be an added advantage)

  • at least eight (8) years of experience at

    senior management levels

  • knowledge and skills in computerized financial

    and management accounting systems

  • knowledge of laws regarding public financial management,

    employment, public procurement; and labor and industrial relations

  • excellent communication and interpersonal

    skills

  • initiative and ability to build and work with

    teams

  • evidence of fulfillment of the requirements of

    Chapter Six (6) of the Kenya Constitution 2010
