Our client, a reputable reseller of original and replacement parts for earthmoving equipment, marine equipment, power plants and lifting equipment.
They have access to a huge stock base and source their parts nationally and across the borders.
They offer quality, competitive and quick delivery of parts. Some of the brands they offer parts and service are Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Perkins and Lister engines.
They are looking for a tenacious Parts Counter Sales Assistant to drive sales volumes through customer service support.
Job Purpose: The Parts Counter Sale Assistant shall be responsible for front-line customer service in a variety of parts ordering functions.
Responsibilities include assisting customers, taking parts orders, researching technical data for the correct part or parts and data entry.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting customers after hours when on-call
- Greet all customers and answer phones in a polite and timely fashion
- Utilize formatted phone script when answering calls
- Process customer and shop orders, backorders, credits and quotes
- Look up parts via supplied computer programs for brands we service
- Handle cash and credit payments and returns per procedures
- Resolve customer issues or concerns as necessary
- Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
- Able and willing to perform shop and warehouse duties as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma in Business Administration or its equivalent.
- Previous experience in spare parts counter sales highly desirable.
- Proven experience in selling of heavy earth moving machines and equipment with basic mechanical skills are highly desirable.
- Computer literacy in point of sale operation.
- Energetic and with stamina to work extended hours and weekends, as well as work overtime when needed and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and organization skills
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced distribution center environmental
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency exceeding customer expectations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Salary: Kshs.20,000
