Description:
To serve as liaison between Information Technology Department and the end user on issues related to desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, network connectivity and remote access.
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist FHI 360 users with desktop support including basic to intermediate troubleshooting PC hardware, software, printers, peripherals, network connectivity and etc.
- Assist with accurate, timely and creative solutions to end user computer and networking problems of moderate nature to ensure client productivity.
- Perform restorative and maintenance actions locally and remotely to resolve client problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Contribution:
- Respond to calls on the IT Service Desk telephone extensions and emails and maintain accurate information in the tracking system.
- Obtain appropriate information and documentation necessary to assist in handling FHI user requests.
- Assist users in FHI 360 network environments and remote access.
- Perform software installations on FHI 360 computers and configure applications as specified.
- Assist in supporting and training FHI 360 users of online communication services and client hardware and software operating environments.
- Perform Hardware diagnostics, support on PC, Laptop, mobile devices printer and other peripherals; also may have to contact with contract support, manufactures, or vendors.
Expertise and Complexity:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows operating systems, mobile softwares, network connectivity, general PC software / hardware and peripherals.
- Ability to research, understand and trouble-shoot new PC hardware / software, operating systems, applications, basic networking,
- Knowledge and practical experience in the use and application of popular personal computer software and communication packages.
- Interact with diplomacy and tact and follow-up on requests in an efficient manner.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
- Report to supervisor on variances and status on regular basis.
Type and Nature of Contacts:
Routine interaction with others, resolve problem situations with tact.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Usual office working conditions; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, BIT, Computer Science or other relevant field
- Other Certifications such as MCP, A+, N+, CCNA, ITIL is an added advantage.
