Kitchen Supervisor Job in Nairobi, Kenya - International Restaurant - 2015





Our client, an international Restaurant in Nairobi is looking for a Kitchen Supervisor



The successful candidate MUST be conversant in Macros and he/she will be required to provide hands on kitchen supervision, direction, coordination and organization of all kitchen staff and their work stations. 



He/she should also be up to date with new market trends.




Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure high quality food that meets stringent standards is produced and consistently maintained.

  • Maintain daily cleaning schedules to ensure that high standards of hygiene are maintained.

  • To ensure that stocks issued and used for food production are accounted for and reconciled with sales.

  • To ensure that customer complaints on food are immediately acted up to uphold good customer service.

  • To ensure that kitchen equipment and crockery are handled properly by kitchen staff & accounted for.

  • To develop, improve and demonstrate proper use of kitchen recipes by staff.

  • To work closely with purchasing and stores to ensure that correct stocks are purchased.

  • Ensure compliance with food and hygiene health and safety laws.

  • Do the actual cooking of food.

  • Menu planning and development.

  • Any other duty assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Food Production or equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Head Cook / kitchen supervisor in a busy 3 to 4 star restaurant.

  • Computer literate.

  • Innovative and quality conscious.

  • Good food presentation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure & long hours.

  • Ability to guide and supervise staff.


Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 40,000 /= (Approx. 400 USD) Plus a service charge between 7,000 – 12,000 /=depending on experience
