1. Electro-Mechanical Technician

The incumbent will be tasked with a major responsibility of ensuring minimal or no breakdowns in plant equipment, equipment utilisation is optimal and supporting factory development works through automation and semi automation activities

Roles and Responsibilities

Handle in a timely and structured manner pneumatics and automation requirements interfacing between mechanical and electrical/electronic partsResolve factory breakdowns in a structured manner ensuring that recurrence is completely eliminatedReview parts requirement for electrical-mechanical parts and liaise with the engineering store- keeper to ensure adequate and vital parts are available in the right quantity and quality whenever neededParticipate in M&E upgrade and conversion works to improve output and capacityTrain operators on Dos and Don’ts related to machineryCarry out machine changeovers as necessaryOversee equipment start up and shutdown to ensure that operators do not encounter simple technical hitchesImplement planned maintenance plans  on equipmentAssist machine operators in machine  inspection during cleaning while ensuring that lubrication is performed appropriately and as per lubrication schedule Participate in energy conservation measures and activitiesParticipate in allocated projects and Capex worksDeputise the electrical technician in all areas of jurisdiction and take full accountability of this position deliverables and KPIs whenever required Diploma in Electo- Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution4 years experience in pneumatics, automation and electro mechanical works especially in a liquids bottle company, canning and other related foods factories.Ability to troubleshoot and  correct machine related problems in record  timeAbility to prioritise a heavy workload and delivery in time with no supervision Job Purpose: To ensure minimal or no breakdowns in plant equipment mainly seamers and fillers, and ensuring  timely machine changeovers and training of  operators to enhance productivity

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure all seamers in the factory are maintained correctly , fault diagnosed correctly and in time, spares allocation done appropriately, standards maintained as per handbooks and manuals and all users trained accordingly on how to operate , report faults and do basic maintenanceFacilitate Right First Time approach in all seaming and filling machinery to enhance productivity and higher yields by ensuring changeovers and machine adjustments are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.Ensure daily and routine maintenance is conducted in all other allocated lines and /or machines  Resolve factory breakdowns in a structured manner ensuring that recurrence is completely eliminatedTrain operators on Dos and Don’ts related to machineryKeep accurate logs of machinery failures, alterations and/ or changeovers to fast track effects of changes to machinery and equipmentOversee equipment start up and shutdown to ensure that operators do not encounter simple technical hitches that can delay production or cause quality  failureAssist machine operators in machine  inspection during cleaning while ensuring that lubrication is performed appropriately and as per lubrication schedule Work with the maintenance team leader in ensuring that spare parts are documented and new ones ordered on need basisParticipate in allocated projects worksParticipation in energy reduction measures and activities and other improvement worksDiploma in Mechanical Engineering7 yrs Experience working with seamers, liquid fillers , powder machines3. Process Engineer

Purpose the Job: To ensure an optimised production process that integrates the  phases of production needs, capacity utilisation, quality and safety requirements matched with a cost effective maintenance methodology
 

Understanding and mapping plant Machinery and Equipment capacities and aligning them to production plans thereby optimizing  and improving  process capability in  all phases of the  production processIn conjunction with Production department  , evaluate the best production mix that realizes the highest utilities utilization without jeopardizing product stock levelsDrafts and actualizes utilities and maintenance work instructions for operators and technicians that define  start up, shutdown , expected output per line , escalation procedure for non- conformities etc.Works with statutory  services providers to ensure that equipment outputs are true and all visual tools including gauges, indicators are calibrated timely and convey accurate information for purposes of efficiency improvement and controlResponsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve utilization and sustainability, develop best practices within the production process.Evaluation  and improvement of processes in manufacturing systems by conducting  value stream maps, checking steam and other utilities settings, highlighting critical bottlenecks and defects and helping to develop concise mitigation plansLeads Maintenance technicians in breakdown reduction by applying effective maintenance tools and methodologiesKeeps abreast with maintenance budgets  and only applies maintenance methods that are lasting and cost effectiveImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.Analyzing production process flows, maintaining reliable and safe manufacturing systems and set- up while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.Serve as technical liaison between Production, Quality and Maintenance regarding new  developments in the manufacturing facility to assure that seamless and quality  production is achievedIn liaison with the Engineering Manager , assure the development, implementation and validation of appropriate process control plans which assure that systems are capable of meeting quality specificationsSupport the manufacturing facility in the investigation and timely  resolution of complex technical problems and ensuring that operatives  understand their roles in maintaining basic conditions on equipmentResearch and recommend new and improved manufacturing technology and manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production efficiency and conversion rates and providing clear leads to the loss structure and priorities to maximize on utilities  utilizationMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesUtilities metrics performance per weekEfficiency output per weekNo of  small improvements teams set up per monthNo of small teams projects completed in a monthAdherence to Maintenance schedules in a monthBudget performance in monthNo of trainings passed onto Operators/Junior  staff  per week Bsc In mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing engineering5 yrs Experience working in a food processing plant preferably diary, fruit processing, edible oils etc leading maintenance teamsDeep knowledge of processes, designs and capacities especially utilities and layoutsKnowledge of efficiency management in a busy plantKnowledge in projects management and Auto CADQualified Candidates to send in their CVs to info@frank-mgt.com CC frankmconsult@yahoo.com
