EGPAF VMMC Technical Advisor Job in Homa Bay, Kenya




The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention, care, and treatment programs. 



Founded in 1988, EGPAF supports activities in 19 countries around the world.

Technical Advisor – VMMC  (Homa Bay)


 



Reporting to the Project Director, the VMMC Technical Advisor will provide technical leadership, management and supervision of all VMMC activities in EGPAF supported facilities in Homa bay and Turkana counties.
 



Key responsibilities


  • Oversee the planning and implementation of VMMC program in supported Counties

  • Provide programmatic and technical oversight for the implementation of VMMC activities

  • Supervise partners involved in implementation of the VMMC program

  • Oversee relevant high quality VMMC training to health care providers by supported partners

  • Participate in joint supervision, and/or mentoring with implementing prtners to ensure high quality service provision

  • Work in collaboration with the VMMC partner and MoH to ensure Quality VMMC standards and compliance requirements are met

  • Represent EGPAF in meetings organised by the donor or MoH, technical working groups, and in professional circles through meetings, conferences and presentations.

  • Document best practices on VMMC

  • To perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Director


Requirements


  • Medical Doctor (MBCHB) or Master’s degree in a clinical discipline (Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health)

  • At least five years’ experience in HIV and AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs, with a particular focus on VMMC preferred

  • Experience conducting or supervising VMMC procedures

  • Experience designing and/or implementing training programs for VMMC

  • Knowledge of key VMMC quality-assured, evidenced-based best practices, trends and new devices

  • Experience with donor-funded health projects

  • Excellent oral and written English communication
