Minimum Requirements: Qualifications for Aviation Maintenance Manager/Team Chief:


  1. Must have at least one year experience as an Aviation Maintenance Manager

  2. Must have at least three years experience working in a rotary-wing maintenance organization

  3. Must have at least one year maintenance experience on MD-500 helicopters

  4. Must have Bachelor’s Degree or be a graduate of ANOC, WOAC, or the Captain’s Career Course (or other service equivalent).

  5. Must have at least one year experience managing aviation maintenance at the AVUM or AVIM (or other service or civilian maintenance equivalent).

  6. Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance

  7. Must have and maintain a current passport

  8. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC)

  9. Must be able to pass a company administered physical exam Other desireable qualifications:

  10. Platform Instruction experience as a trainer/instructor within the U.S Army Aviation Center of Excellence (Fort Rucker, Fort Eustiss, Fort Huachuca) or other military service equivalent institution.

  11. Prior experience in Production Control (PC) and Quality Control (QC). Preferred experience will be Aviation class IX Supply Support Activity (SSA), MTP or AVIM Company Commander.

  12. Previous experience as a Security Assistance Team Chief or member.

  13. Gradutat of ANOC, Aviation Maintenance Manager’s Course, Aviation Technician Course, or Aviation Maintenance Officer Course (or other service equivalent) Job Description: ADD SPECIFIC DETAILS HERE: THE LANGUAGE BELOW WAS FROM AN EXISTING REQUISITION FOR A MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR. – POSSIBLY USE AS A TEMPLATE TO DESCRIBE THIS PARTICULAR POSITION.

The successful candidate must if required be able to function under dangerous conditions with physical hardships and possible field living conditions. Reports to the Project Manager. Overall responsible for implementation of the maintenance plan. Provides guidance and direction to deliver total customer satisfaction related to work procedures, schedules and work flow. Provides guidance to shop leads and is responsible for safety, quality and procedural compliance. Monitors contractual delivery orders, contract funds and status of maintenance delivery schedule.


Monitors and approves work orders, labor reporting and material requests. Supervises, coordinates, assigns duties and provides leadership to assigned staff. Fosters employee satisfaction. Reviews reports from individual subordinates. Analyze data and prepare Maintenance related CDRL reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Prepares written and oral reports for Program Management and customer representatives. Performs all other duties to manage the site. Responsible for administration of Company policies and administers or directs the administration of employee disciplinary and corrective actions. Interface directly with Government Maintenance Division Chief to resolve issues.
