The Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project is a capacity development organization that is committed to inspiring, investing, engaging and facilitating growth opportunities for young persons in transitional stages of their lives. We ignite young people to set career goals and walk them through the achievement of such goals enabling them transit seamlessly from school to work. Founded as an offshoot of the Moremi Initiative fellowship in 2011, Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project has contributed to the career advancement of young people in Calabar and in Nigeria through its strategic interventions such as the Prep2Grad Symposium, Project iGNITE, Pre- Tertiary Programme, Workplace Training for Undergraduates, its Opportunities blog, Internship Placements, trainings and other social broking services. Job Description
The Volunteer will be in charge of: (1) Determining and clarifying strategic and operational problems (2) Identifying problems and seeking solutions reviewing current strategy (3) Undertaking research into the industry sector, markets and competitors (4) Collecting, analysing and interpreting data and statistics (5) Compiling and presenting information verbally, visually and in writing (6) Identifying and assessing the pros and cons of possible strategies outlining objectives (7) Developing, advising about and implementing agreed solutions (8) Identifying strategic partnerships for Afterschool Project
Volunteer Logistics:
Estimated hours required per week: 30 hours per week
The estimated duration of the project is: 6-12 months
This position is On-site in Calabar Nigeria or Virtual
The office can provide amenities to volunteers such as: Internet, Office space
Desired Skills and Experience
A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Senior Consultant candidates, including intellectual ability, strong analytic skills, imagination and creativity, judgment and maturity, curiosity, interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, high energy level, professional integrity, and demonstrated leadership.
