KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme Research Officers Jobs in Kenya

KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme is well known internationally for its diverse health studies, including clinical, epidemiological, immunological and health systems research (finance and governance).
The Programme invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following Research Officer positions:
 1. Research Officer - Health Care Financing (Maternal and Child Health), to be based in Nairobi.

To assist the principal investigator in overseeing the design and implementation of a study on Effective Coverage and financial risk protection for Maternal and Child Health services in Kenya.
 2. Research Officer - Health Care Financing, to be based in Nairobi.
To assist the principal investigator in overseeing the design and implementation of a study on evaluating health care purchasing arrangements in Kenya.
Deadline for both applications is 30th October 2013.
3. Research Officer - to be based in Kilifi.
To work closely with a post-doctoral fellow on a project aimed at dissecting the functional mechanisms that underlie acquired immunity to malaria in humans. The work will involve the analysis of cell populations and antibodies that have been shown to play role in the clearance of malaria parasites from the human host.

4. Research Officer – Research Ethics, to be based in Kilifi.
To contribute to a study on ethical aspects of public health research data sharing, through reviewing published literature and international and national policy guidelines; and participation in empirical research to describe the views of community members, research staff and other stakeholders on this topic. This empirical research will begin in Kilifi in early 2014 and be conducted in another research setting in Kenya in 2014/2015.
