Aviation Security Inspector

ASSR/AS/05/23)

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

• Carrying out routine security inspections at airports,
  airlines, regulated agents, catering operators, aviation training
  organizations, air navigation service providers, ground handlers and
  aviation security service providers.


• Conducting Ad-hoc (surveillance) inspections and reporting on
  non-compliance for necessary action.


• Undertaking periodic (intermittent) security inspections,


• Conducting follow-up inspections to ensure rectification of
  identified non[1]compliance;
  and


• Collecting information on operator compliance levels and
  other security matters that could adversely affect civil aviation
  operations.

Person Specifications 

For appointment to this
grade an officer must have at least:

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
  Aviation Management, Law, Criminology, Economics, Public/Business
  Administration, Structural Engineering, Security Studies or equivalent
  qualification from a recognized institution.


• Certificate in Aviation Security Basic (123) Course from an
  institution recognized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).


• Certificate in Cargo and Mail Security Course from an
  institution recognized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO.


• Proficiency in computer applications; and


• Fulfilled the requirement of chapter six (6) of the
  Constitution
