JOB VACANCY: Internal Audit Manager
Reports To: Partner-Audit
JOB PURPOSE.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing internal operating controls, processes and practices by verifying the financial status and operating procedures of the institution through a systematic program of audits
Responsibilities
- To manage and a grow a portfolio of internal audit clients. This is from work scheduling and planning, execution, reporting and follow ups.
- Customer relationship management
- Consistent training, mentoring and coaching a team of auditors on risk based internal audits
- Advising the firm and clients of new and emerging risk and areas of focus
- Audit planning management: Guide, take part/ review
- Managing internal audit execution and client relation
- Where needed, coordinate the interaction with clients’ external auditors
- Consistent review of the ongoing work
- Business development as agreed with the audit partner
- Reporting: Both internally and externally
- Representing the firm in board meetings
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business or other related fields
- 7 years practical hands-on experience 3 of which should be at manager level managing and performing risk-based audits
- CPAK, IIA, CISA will be an added advantage
- Member of IAA / ICPAK
- Must have passion for business development, people and new ideas, self-drive and a good time manager
- Excellent communications skills written and oral
- Analytical skills, problem solving and innovative mind-set
- Experience in IT audits will be an added advantage
