Job Summary
Our client seeks to hire an experienced house manager/cook who is hospitable and professional in their work. The preferred candidate must have great inter-personal skills and must be competent in their work.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing meal plans and household schedules.
- Preparing meals for the family.
- Keeping the employer’s residence clean, organized and in running order.
- Managing kitchen supplies and ensures that the fridge and pantry are stocked with the appropriate groceries.
- Welcoming guests and being hospitable to them.
- Does the laundry, presses, sorts and organizes it appropriately.
- Provides appropriate care for a young child when the nanny is away.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Good cooking skills – Able to make healthy meals and snacks and also willing to learn new recipes
- Excellent planning and organization skills: Able to plan and organize her work and execute it with ease
- Excellent communication skills: Able to communicate effectively with both the employer and child/ren
- Independent and proactive – Energetic and able to carry out her work seamlessly without supervision from the employer
- Hospitable – Able to welcome guests and attend to their needs
- Resourceful and trustworthy: Keen on managing the employer’s resources efficiently without wastage.
- Upholds high standards of work ethic: Respectful, reliable and confidential with all matters related to the employer
- Language skills – Can communicate fluently in both English and Swahili
Academic Qualifications
- Secondary School level, Tertiary education is a plus
- A certificate in catering or hospitality will be an added advantage
Work Experience
- 5+ years of consistent work experience as a Cook/House manager.
