It is

based in Berlin (Germany) and currently has six subsidiaries in Africa and

projects in ten countries in Africa / Asia / Americas.

For our Kenyan subsidiary we are looking for a highly motivated Project

Coordinator with immediate availability.


 



This

position oversees the implementation of the Kenyan component of an

international project financed by the European Union and carried out in

collaboration with two other partner organisations. The project is being

implemented in parallel in Kenya, Ethiopia and Madagascar and has a duration of

four years.

The EU Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning, management,

execution and reporting of all project activities in Kenya. 




This

position is based in Nairobi but travel is required. 


This

position reports to the Kenya Managing Director but works in close cooperation

with the overall EU Project Manager based at the SOLARKIOSK headquarters in Berlin.

Responsibilities



  • Plan,

    coordinate and supervise the implementation of all EU grant related

    activities in Kenya

  • Oversee

    all tasks related to the establishment of project-financed kiosks and

    ensure their compliance with the structural and technical standards of

    SOLARKIOSK AG and the EU  

  • Ensure

    the timely provision of project deliverables

  • Elaborate

    regular consolidated impact, technical and financial reports of project

    activities and achievements

  • Ensure

    local budget, logistics and procurement comply with project and EU

    requirements

  • Build,

    develop and formalise partnerships with public service providers (schools,

    health centres, local municipalities), MFIs, SMEs, NGOs and other

    stakeholders, and identify new areas of collaboration

  • Coordinate

    the activities of the project team relating to site and operator

    selection, operator training, inauguration ceremonies, data gathering

    surveys, PR and awareness-raising campaigns, knowledge-sharing workshops,

    and continuous monitoring of project kiosk performance and community

    impact

  • Secure

    and manage contracts with local external consultants for provision of

    technical and research/analysis services


  • Prepare

    local tenders for procurement of supplies for installation and maintenance

    of kiosks 

  • Maintain

    regular communication with the Project Manager and with the Kenya EU

    Delegation in charge of monitoring the project

  • Compile

    and archive project documentation

  • Assist

    in data analysis and preparation of project publications

  • Bachelor

    or Master degree in Management, Social Sciences, Engineering or equivalent

  • At

    least 5 years experience in project management

  • Perfectly

    fluent in English, Swahili an asset

  • Administrative

    and financial management experience

  • Experience

    developing partnerships with stakeholders and local/regional authorities

  • Excellent

    planning, organisational and multitasking skills

  • Highly

    independent working style, able to take responsibility and function under

    minimal supervision

  • Outstanding

    oral and written communication skills, able to clearly and persuasively

    communicate to a diversity of stakeholder groups

  • Able

    to conceptualise and organise project planning processes

  • Able

    to accurately review, process and summarise detail oriented information

  • Able

    to work under pressure and set and meet deadlines

  • Keen

    to face and successfully overcome business and cultural challenges

  • Experience

    in solar energy an asset

  • A
