Workshop Equipment Maintenance Manager

To oversee 22 motor vehicle alignment, wheel balancing and tyre changing workshops.

The workshop equipment manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment use on company job sites / branches.

He/she acts as a technical adviser on all equipment repair and maintenance issues

 

Essential Functions

• Monitor and track equipment status on a daily basis in all workshops.


• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with other technicians of all workshop equipment.


• Purchase small tools and any supplies needed for the equipment or work crews.


• Provides branch management with a weekly budget analysis of repairs needed or done.


• Inspect equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.


• Coordinate training sessions for new equipment with the operators as needed.


• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment including generators, compressors, pumps, lifts etc.


• Provide and insure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment.


• Arrange for the repair of equipment and tools as required by the respective branch outlet users.


• Ensure proper functioning of all machines and equipment and provision of right tools.


• Plan, track and take corrective actions for mobilization of equipment onsite.


• Establish and implement Inventory Management System


• Establish Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) for equipment and workshop facilities.


• Maintain Track of due Calibrations & Certification of all workshop machines.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related qualifications


• With hands on experience in compressors, generators lifts, motor vehicle alignment machines and wheel balancing machines maintenance.


• Minimum 5 years’ experience equipment and workshop management.


• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with operating tools, equipment


• Ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and recommend corrective measures or repair.
