Job Vacancy: Logistics Manager

The Logistics portfolio of Kenya Ltd; is a Strategic Business Unit. Logistics is a very key function to the success of the organization. 

To be based in Mombasa, the incumbent will manage logistics operations.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the functions of this job will include managing timely and cost efficient warehouse operations, sea, air and road shipments (imports and exports), cargo clearance, stock management, delivery and regular preparation of reports to management.

 

In details it involves:-

• Organize all activities and assign Jobs to logistics staff.


• Planning and responsibility for cargo shipments, discharge, clearance, documentation and safe delivery to Warehouse.


• Setup, implement, monitor, control warehouse layout and optimal utilization and management of logistics equipment and assets.


• Develop, implement and monitor logistics processes, procedures and quality standards.


• Stock management, control, reporting, timely delivery of goods, shipments unloading, loading and transfer.


• Documentation and data management.


• Planning, organizing and controlling of warehouse operations in relation to company objectives and set targets.


• Train, develop, mentor, motivate and manage an enthusiastic team.


• Manage staff performance, attendance.


• Ensure that workplace national, county and company regulations are complied with.


• Responsible for SHEQ, and in addition the safety, and security of stock, building, equipment and assets.


• Initiate cost reduction measures as a culture in all aspects of freighting, handling, warehousing and transport activities.


• Investigate and initiate measures to enhance efficient and effective management of logistics activities


• Prospect, develop and retain customers.


• Management of third party contractual obligations


• Other duties that may be allocated from time to time

Qualifications:

• Age 30-40 years preferably


• University Degree


• Professional Qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Shipping


• At least 5 years experience, 3 of which must be in management role in a busy logistics environment (including staff management)

• Self motivated, high integrity, dynamic and business minded


• Outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills


• Team player with attention to detail
