Business Development Officer – IT Software



1 Position




Role Overview:
Our client is an innovative market leader in IT solutions vending with strong presence in the East Africa Region.



Due to business expansion drive they are looking for IT Solutions Business Development Executives to drive market growth. 




Duties and Responsibilities


  • Developing new business through networking and cold calling

  • Arranging business meetings and following up leads

  • Understanding customers’ specific business needs and applying product knowledge to meet those needs

  • Learning about how products and services work

  • Ensuring quality of service by developing a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications

  • Preparing and delivering customer presentations and demonstrations of the software, articulately and confidently;

  • Providing support to customers, offering clear advice and solutions wherever possible

  • Writing and designing sales literature and other tools for sales pitching

  • Attending industry events like conventions, workshops, seminars etc to gauge contemporary developments in the industry

  • Keeping abreast of the constantly changing information technology industry environment.

  • Innovatively think of new products offering for the market.


Qualifications and Skills


  • A Bachelor’s degree course in Information Technology from a recognized University

  • A Sales and Marketing qualification will be a definite advantage

  •  At least 2 year’s experience selling Information Technology driven solutions

  • Ability to do combine field, telephone, electronic and social media marketing approaches.

  • Excellent relationship skills and ability to persuade at any level.

  • Excellent interpersonal presentation and communication skills

  • A Self driven person with a go-getter attitude and ambition.

  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

  • Proven ability to drive sales and work in fast paced environments where target achievement is key.

  • A strong appetite for knowledge and learning

  • Ability to think strategically about issues and develop thoughtful recommendations and action plans

  • Possession of high levels of integrity and honesty

  • Good command of Ms Office Suite packages
