Job Title: Institutional Sales Team Lead – FMCG
Responsible to: Regional Business Development Manager

Job Purpose:
- To manage and grow the institutional team and follow through with targets set by the Regional Business Development Manager.
- The individual is also expected to determine and carry through on the requirements of each individual client.
- To grow the companies institutional business and foster exceptional quality relationships with new and existing clients.
- To carry out market research, general research, update records and maintain detailed information as part of a busy and flexible team
Role of Department: The Institutional Sales team is responsible for creating new, quality and sustainable business for the company across all product ranges.
The department is also meant to maintain a high level of engagement with the client base and act as a point of contact between the company and the various institutions we deal with.
It is critical that the work produced and outlook is of a standard that guarantees the best possible corporate image of the company.
Key Result Areas
- Head the Institutional Sales team
- The Institutional TL is responsible for all allocated workflow, taking ownership all corporate clients within the company portfolio.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities at institutional channel by promoting the company product Range to new and existing Clients
- Develop and manage new and existing clients by providing high calibre of service, explore and
- Identify all their needs.
- Approach new businesses with tailor made proposals to offer solutions to their needs..
- Manage and maintain sales / clients databases as well as provide regular, accurate and timely reports to your line manager.
- Develop strategic partnerships and tailored campaigns to take hold of business opportunities in corporate, NGO and government environments.
- Grow business in assigned channels, sectors and product line [as per set targets] Manage clients’ [and teams] receivables and cash collections in accordance to set financial KPIs’.
- Ensure clients have positive experience by communicating professionally and effectively during and after the all transactions. This will be measured and governed by a customer NPS Score.
- Oversee and manage relationship Managers to achieve set targets Work closely with your line manager and relevant departments to ensure efficient operation in terms of “ product availability, storage, delivery & after sales service”
- Train the team members to ensure 100% product and process knowledge and compliance.
- Any other assigned duties
Person Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in business related course [management, sales, commerce or communication would be preferred] with high scores in English at former levels and the ability to produce exceptional quality written work is a pre-requisite for the role.
- A minimum of 3 [three] years role specific experience.
- Experience of a busy, high pressure working environment is an advantage as the role demands the ability to handle multiple workloads with key task identification and prioritisation essential.
- An amount of creativity is needed to produce tailored documents that accurately portray and sell the company’s products.
- The individual needs to be self-driven and pro-actively maximise on opportunities.
- Networking is a key role requirement and proven networks and ability to grow them will be an added advantage.
