Field Engineer
Reports to the head of Projects & Design
The Role: The Field engineer shall ensure that customer deployment projects are effectively and efficiently delivered.
Within budgeted costs, defined quality standards and agreed time lines.
The projects to be deployed include Cabled and wireless network deployments, Voice systems, IPTV & MATV systems, computing and physical security deployments.
This role is 80% in customer sites that may include out of Nairobi sites.
Job Description
- Define project scope, plans, and budgets and implement project timelines
- Recruit, hire and manage project subcontractors and casuals
- Manage the quality of service and prepare measurement schedule for continuous performance management for all project tasks, milestones and deliverables
- Ensure there is collaboration between Talinda East Africa, The client and other contractors or consultants for excellent project execution.
- Make project reports, handle all project milestone signoffs and handover to the accounts and support teams on completion.
- Manage files for each project, ensuring all purchases, deviations and certificates are documented.
- Responsible for communicating project’s status and giving progressive risk reports on all the projects running for the purposes of making management decisions.
- Ensure that Safety and health rules as well as the professional code of ethics are observed in every deployment.
Job Specifications
- A BSc in Engineering, Telecoms, Computer science or related field.
- Should be to the minimum CCNA certified (DO NOT APPLY IF THIS CERTIFICATE IS NOT RECEIVED)
- Should be certified Project Management Professional.
- A minimum of 2 years progressive experience in the telecommunication sector,
