Lifeskills Promoters (LISP) is a Local charitable Organisation that has been in operation since 1999.
LISP empowers young people and their influencers using empowering approaches and life skills as a foundation.
LISP works closely with churches, communities and government departments, corporates and like-minded agencies. LISP works in 7 counties in Kenya.
Lifeskills Promoters (LISP) has been running a U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded program, as the prime recipient to provide support for the OVC project, dubbed “Wezesha project” in Kenya, in partnership with St Johns’ Community Center (SJCC).
This project covers Migori, Kisii and Homabay counties of south Nyanza.
LISP is advertising for suitable and qualified candidates for the following positions:
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
Reports To: Executive Director
Supervises: Program officers, Program Assistant.
Interacts With: program staff, stakeholders.
Program: LISP Programs
Work station: Nairobi
Time Allocation: 100% Programming and M&E
Program Monitoring and Evaluation
Overall Purpose: To ensure that LISP programs have an effective, efficient and quality M&E systems and processes that are easily implemented and supervised.
Scope of Work
- Oversee all M&E aspects of LISP programs.
- Establish and implement LISP project monitoring and evaluation systems
- Oversee the development and implementation of M&E work plans.
- Give guidance and participate in the development of the annual work-plan
- Mentor and supervise the Data officer on program database system and data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Mentor the Program officers in quality report writing and ensure they meet donor standards
- Review all monthly, quarterly and annual reports as per donor
- Facilitate development of M&E tools and training of sub-grantees and LIPs on their use.
- Coordinate and participate in the evaluation of LISP programs.
- Ensure appropriate data software and tools (such as CSI tool, OLMIS and KeMPS and any other appropriate tool and software) are in place and effectively utilized.
- Provide recommendations for improvements on M&E component of programs.
Performance Indicators
- Accuracy in M&E reporting on LISP Programs with 95% accuracy and timeliness in line with stipulated donor requirements.
- A functional M&E system that is implemented
- Data quality assessment reports
- Existence of Data collection instruments/tools
- Evidence of report reviews and processing
- Data quality assessment reports
- Training and Program data reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as research methods, sociology statistics, economics,development, etc.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation, including design and implementation of project and program monitoring and evaluation plans
- Program M&E planning and management skills and experience, in USAID funded projects.
- Proficient organization and time management skills
- Excellent team working skills and ability to provide M&E leadership to ensure smooth running of the programs.
- Strong oral and written communication, training and facilitation skills.
- Computer skills (SPSS, excel, spread sheet, publishing application etc.)
- Driving skills and other trainings are an added advantage.
