I.T. Support Technician
Role: Be responsible for the computer systems within a company, handling installations, backup systems, provision of the ICT infrastructures for a company and contributing to company policy regarding quality standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations
- Meet with Managers across the company to discuss system requirements, specifications and timeliness.
- Trouble shooting in hardware, software and network operations
- Provide orientation and train new users on existing technology in use.
- Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
- Install work stations
- Loading all required software, create network accounts and passwords,
- Ensure the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision
- Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
- Keeping up to date with the latest technologies
Knowledge and skills
Be proficient in:
- computer hardware and software programmes
- Computer networks, network administration and installation.
- Trouble shooting
Required Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of complex information and requirements
- Great IT skills combined with a good understanding of business
- Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
- An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field, 5 years experience
- in a busy commercial and multi- station environment.
- Must be available in the shortest time possible.
