I.T. Support Technician

Role: Be responsible for the computer systems within a company, handling installations, backup systems, provision of the ICT infrastructures for a company and contributing to company policy regarding quality standards.


Duties and responsibilities:



  • Implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations

  • Meet with Managers across the company to discuss system requirements, specifications and timeliness.

  • Trouble shooting in hardware, software and network operations

  • Provide orientation and train new users on existing technology in use.

  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources

  • Install work stations

  • Loading all required software, create network accounts and passwords,

  • Ensure the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision

  • Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems

  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies


Knowledge and skills

Be proficient in:



  • computer hardware and software programmes

  • Computer networks, network administration and installation.

  • Trouble shooting


Required Skills


  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Understanding of complex information and requirements

  • Great IT skills combined with a good understanding of business

  • Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms

  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field, 5 years experience

  • in a busy commercial and multi- station environment.

  • Must be available in the shortest time possible.
