Our Client is a manufacturing company currently recruiting a Veterinary Officer.
The Vet Officer is responsible for executing the Poultry Operations as per the planned schedule. He/ She will coordinate veterinary services on the Farm as well as carrying out training to the target groups (farmers).
Responsibilities (Functions and Duties):
- Schedule vaccinations programme for the poultry farmers and supervise delivery and execution of the same
- Provide veterinary services to the company’s farm
- Provide veterinary services
- Train poultry farmers on quality management systems
- Visit farmers and advice them on how to implement quality management services
- Make a list and place orders on time of all the items required for farmers support i. e. feed, vaccines, vitamins, treatment drugs, disinfectants e. t. c.
- Maintain proper records of the chicks sold to farmers and dates delivered
- Execute and supervise the delivery of chicks to the farmers to ensure their safety
- Maintain records of the farmers visited and services delivered
- Train and encourage farmers to practice poultry organic farming
- Prepare reports for the purpose of certification by KOAN
- Conduct marketing and sales activities, forum e. t.
Experience:
- 1 – 2 years experience working in the Agriculture Sector.
- Animal Health and Management will be an added advantage
Education and Specialist Knowledge Required
- Degree / Diploma in Agriculture/ Animal Health Management or any relevant field
- Professional certificate from an accredited body
- Knowledge on Poultry Management an added advantage
Salary: Shs 25,000
