NRHS Quality Assurance Officer (Anza Mapema Study) Job in Kisumu Kenya - 2015

The Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Kisumu dedicated to improving reproductive health of men and women. 

NRHS has several research projects related to HIV prevention and reproductive health. 

It runs support groups for PLWHA and Key Populations, and is working with the Ministry of Health to scale up male circumcision for HIV prevention.

NRHS will be undertaking research to assess HIV prevention, treatment and care among a key population in Kisumu. 

The specific study activities include HIV testing and counseling, care and treatment, behavioral assessments and promotion of adherence to treatment. 

NRHS seeks highly qualified candidates for the following position in the Anza Mapema study.
 

Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer
 

 

Location: Kisumu
 

Reporting To: Research Director

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performing quality check on the informed consent forms, case report forms, specimen collection and other study documents


• Conducting source data verification, to verify accuracy and consistency of data between the CRFs and source documents


• Conducting quality checks on the specimen collected to ensure they are well labeled and appropriate


• Have in-depth understanding of the protocols and SOPs and ensuring the protocols and SOPs are followed by conducting audits


• Assist with site preparations for visits by external monitors and auditors where necessary


• Provide regular reports and updates on quality control activities for various studies

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelors degree or diploma in a health related discipline


• Minimum of 2 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of public health programs, or quality assurance/quality control in programs or public health research


• Training on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) with a good understanding of research ethics


• MSM friendly or member of key population
