Making All Voices Count is an international initiative working towards effective governance and accountability in 12 countries in Africa and Asia.
Vacancy Name: Grants Officer
The Grants Officer reports to the Making All Voices Count Grant Manager and supports the financial management of the Programme across a range of countries. Special focus is on the administrative management of Making All Voices Count grants.
Additionally the Grants Officer assists in logistics for in country events, especially where there is a financial input.
Grants Officer Job Responsibilities
- The Grants Officer is responsible for the administrative management of grants. This involves written assessments, preparation of selection documents, administrative follow up of approved grants including contracting.
- During the lifecycle the Grants Officer is responsible for the monitoring of the administrative obligations of the grantee including reporting.
- The Grants Officer is responsible for the adequate processing of grant related administration in the Making All Voices Count grant management database.
- The Grants Officer prepares grant overviews for input in management meetings.
- The Grants Officer prepares grants overviews for Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation Manager.
- To maintain the electronic filing system and update and load the relevant documents on internal digital media.
- Attend to ad-hoc queries that arise from day-to-day interaction with project partners and applicants for funding.
- Liaise with partner organizations on administrative issues.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to in-country evenst such as travel arrangements, venues, invitations and preparation of documentation.
Qualifications for Grants Officer Kenyan Jobs
- Academic background (Bachelor’s level) or similar in international business administration or international communication.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Knowledge of and affinity with technology for development, democratization processes, civil society and transparency and accountability.
- Administrative project management skills
- Proficient in computer use (Microsoft Office and database)
- Pro-active and result based working style
