Job Title: Branch Manager
Location: Juba, South Sudan
Reports to: Director, East Africa Operations
Educational Qualifications
- Ideally educated to Bachelors’ degree standard or equivalent.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant Sales, Operations and Customer Service experience, ideally from a logistics, shipping, government contracting or mobility background.
Basic Skill Set
- Flexibility, positive, friendly attitude and the ability to work in time-pressed environments.
- Familiarity with the logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, mobility and /or Government sector clients, markets and competitors.
- Ability to manage projects and reporting of those projects (operations, financial, customer satisfaction…).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc) and industry standard CRM applications.
- Self motivated, positive attitude and the ability to interact well with all levels in a diverse multi-national organization.
- Must be able to operate independently and well under pressure.
- Previous experience in management and sales required in the same industry.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of South Sudan and previous experience in South Sudan a plus.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales.
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
- Develop business opportunities in the country of operations, and help develop the same in neighboring countries when opportunities arise.
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans, strategies.
- Meet goals and metrics, as per discussions with Director of operations.
- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately. Follow up and report on the accounting on monthly basis.
- Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation.
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
- Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
- Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.
- Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration.
- Link with clients requesting for quotations, understands their needs, and works to get accurate costs from agents and the Nairobi/Dubai offices.
- Develops accurate, rapid cost calculations, and provides customers with quotations and proposals following CLIENTS quoting system.
- Centralizes the follow up of quotations and go back to clients quoted to follow up on status.
- Strengthens the relationship with existing clients and vendors.
- Negotiate rates with vendors and come up with long standing relationship and advantageous agreements.
- Develops sales and marketing activities and efforts as required that contribute to and underpin the sales pipeline.
- Collaborate and support marketing initiatives with the Director of operations.
- Manage all assets of the branch and report accordingly.
- Control and maintain warehouse work and inventory.
- Any other work tasks requested by the supervisor or CLIENT Management.
