Associate Claims Officer




Grade: National Officer, NO-B, Nairobi

The Associate Claims Officer reports to the Administrative Officer, Head of Local Claims Review and Local Property Survey Board Unit (LCRB and LPSB) within the Office of the Director.





Duties and Responsibilities:
 



Within delegated authority, the Claims Officer is responsible for the following duties:



Competencies: Professionalism, Leadership, Vision, Client Orientation, Technological Awareness, Teamwork, Communications.




Qualifications:
 



Education: 


  • Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in law or related fields. 

  • A first level university degree with relevant combination of a minimum 4 years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.


Experience: 


  • At least two years (with a Master’s Degree) of progressively responsible experience in legal or paralegal management or similar functions. 

  • Experience working with database management software. 

  • Previous experience in the compilation or settlement of third party claims in a legal setting is required.


Languages: 


  • Fluency in spoken and written English; 

  • knowledge of other languages spoken in Kenya and Somalia would be an asset.


Driving Skills: Possession of a valid Kenya national driving license would be desired.
