Vacancy: Head, Bio-Medical Engineering Department
The Mombasa Hospital, established in 1981, is one of the leading Healthcare institutions in Mombasa County.
The Hospital is seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified Kenyan citizen for the position of Head of Bio-Medical Engineering Department.
Reporting to the Hospital Administrative Director, the successful candidate will provide leadership for the Bio-medical Engineering workforce of the Hospital including the following among others:-
- Ensure all Engineering operations within the Hospital run at optimal level.
- Preparing annual engineering department budgets.
- Developing and implementing planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in optimal working conditions.
- Ensure stocking and availability of appropriate spares/equipment.
- Facilitating trainings and continuous professional development activities within the department.
- Ensure Hospital engineering functions comply with medical, certification, legal and safety standards.
Applicants should possess the following:
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Bio-Medical Engineering or their equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Registered and/or eligible for registration with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya and/or Engineering Board of Kenya.
- Over five years working experience, three of which should be in a leadership role in a busy hospital.
- Strong organization, planning and leadership skills.
- Team player with good interpersonal and customer relations skills.
- Proficient in use of computers.
- Over 30yrs of age.
