Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Industry: Water Systems
Location: Nairobi
Salary: KShs 180K – 250K GrossOur client is a group of companies and a leader in the water industry.
They are looking to hire a dynamic Sales Engineer with exposure in water systems sales and project design.
Ideal candidates should have sold water equipment or solutions to construction projects, agricultural projects, commercial companies or real estate projects.
Must have a technical professional backgroundSpecific Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and solicit business for water projects
- Attend pre-sales client meetings and presentations with account representatives.
- Identify client requirements: (technical requirements, client infrastructure, configuration, and requirements), technical design (including solution configurations and diagrams) and planning phases of the sales cycle.
- Determine scope and develop proposals.
- Lead in the development of technical designs, bill of quantities , preparation and submission of tender documents
- Supervision of contracts for boreholes, piped water systems, dams and water irrigation systems, sanitation facilities and solid waste disposal systems
- Design water treatment plants, pump systems, stations and pipelines for collecting waste water.
- Designing sewer improvement programs
- Technical engineering support to Sales Team aimed at generating sales volumes
- Build capacity within the Sales Team through product training and offering
- Be involved in promotion and sales efforts to water supply companies, design and planning companies, contractors, commercial and distribution companies or any other entity required for increasing sales potential.
- Promote the “ARI culture” of providing global solutions for hydraulic problems in water and wastewater networks by means of educational endeavors in water companies, design engineers and other decision makers in the field. (Presentations, seminars, brochures and technical leaflets, exhibition participation etc.).
- Counsel and support customers, designers and maintenance engineers in solving hydraulic problems by means of ARIavCAD and SURGE analysis and adapting ARI products accordingly.
- Counsel water and wastewater companies in optimizing their networks
- Prepare a weekly, monthly and yearly sales and marketing plan,
- Prepare monthly reports of meetings, leads, project developments and any other required information.
- Operate according to the approved budget and management instructions
Key Performance Indicators
- Sales Budget
- Collection as per credit policy
- Customer visit report
- Conversion of quotations converted (which are in system) into orders.
- Report on orders lost
- New active accounts
- Sale of slow moving/dead stock
Skills and Qualification Experience
- B. Sc. degree in mechanical, technical engineering or related discipline
- Industry knowledge, minimum 5 years in process equipment sales, preferably in the water / wastewater
- Business savvy with a confident and determined approach, and a strong closer
- Proactive with strong decision making, persuasion, leadership and communication skills
- Fluency in English with good written and oral communication skills
- Competent computer and MS Office user
