DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung) is an international development and advocacy organization with its headquarters in Hannover, liaison offices in Berlin and Brussels as well as country offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. 

Our main goal is to help people free themselves from poverty. For this purpose we support integrated programs in sexual reproductive health and rights focusing on youth empowerment, advocacy, and capacity building of local partners.

DSW seeks to recruit a field officer to be based in Mombasa office, Coast, Kenya. 

The Field Officer’s position will contribute towards improving access to comprehensive health services, information and supplies by women of reproductive age living in the informal settlements of Bangladesh and Maweni.

General Area of Responsibility: Working with the project coordinator, program officer and other stakeholders, the field officer will support and provide leadership on field related activities in the project sites. 
This is alongside working with field staff and partners to ensure that the assigned tasks are implemented to the highest standards.

Specific Tasks:


Programme Development and Planning
Assist with development of concepts and proposals to mobilize resources, particularly held support funding, to address RH needs and priorities in project sites and the region at large.Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly activity work plans with details of resources required against the budget.Mobilize relevant stakeholders such as elders and leaders to support the promotion of SRH knowledge and adoption of positive behavior. Mobilize target population and form and/or strengthen peer groups Organize and conduct targeted outreach eventsSupport formulation, needs assessment and capacity building of the identified groups In liaison with Coast programme coordinator, support and monitor the delivery of high quality programme.Make continuous informal observation of the programmes delivery, noting and reporting any problems, successes and suggestions for improvement.Responsibilities will include supervision of champions. In addition, they will be involved in the collection of data and documentation of stories and achievements.Prepare high quality and quarterly reports as per stipulated guidelines and within the agreed deadlinesCapture evidence of project’s impact through identifying and writing success stories and case studiesDocument the project’s best practices for scaling up and application Establish and maintain effective good working relationship with communities, partners and GovernmentsIdentify and inform your supervisor of potential programme partnershipsLink the project groups to relevant partners for self-development and continuity Representation and other tasksRepresent DSW at various fora as and when requestedManage and account for the project advances in accordance with DSW's financial policyChair site level project review meetings in their respective locations to review project progress, working strategies and share lessons learntA Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in a Health related field.
