The County Government of Vihiga wishes to recruit competent and qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions as provided under Section 59 and 66 of the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012.
Specialized Clinical Officer - (Job Group K) in the following area.Offer curative services in a health facilityWork in flexible shiftsStrong commitment to in-patients and out-patientsRespond to emergency callsAnswerable and accountable to the Medical Superintendent, Vihiga CountyReferral Hospital.Any other relevant duty as assignedMust have a diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution in Kenya.Has a valid Registration with the Clinical Officers Council.Valid Practicing License.Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya .Offer General Surgical services at Vihiga County Referral HospitalConduct daily surgical ward roundsConduct Surgical Outpatient ClinicsReview cases that require consultant attention as they ariseSupervise Interns and Medical students rotating in General Surgery DepartmentPerform Cold Surgical casesPerform Emergency Surgical casesAny other relevant duty and responsibility within the County Health DepartmentQualifications / Requirements:Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBchB) and Masters of Medicine in General Surgery (MMed) from a recognized University.3 years’ experience in Surgery from a busy County Hospital or its equivalent.Be registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.Must have a Valid Practicing License.Training in Trauma Surgery will be an added advantage.Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.a) Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification
b) Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted
c) For a candidate to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution, one MUST have the following clearance certificates:A certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)A clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)A tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)A certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)Clearance from any Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).All applications should be accompanied by a copy of National ID Card, a detailed CV and copies of all relevant certificates and testimonials.
