He/she will be based at the Trust's offices in Bonn, Germany. The specific responsibilities of the internship may include:Video - editing sound and imagesPhotography - assist in maintenance of Images Folder coverage of events and creation of new images;Graphic Design - support the production of reports, publications, web materials and other multimedia and promotional products including liaising with printers.Assist in social media pages and profiles, tracking metrics for social media channels and creating a master list of key social media influencers across the nonprofit sector.Online Newsletter - assist in preparing monthly issue and launchBenchmarking -- Generate weekly reports on -- partners' and competitors' news and social media, ongoing media coverage of topics related to crop diversity, conservation and food security.Provide other support in the development and implementation of the Crop Trust's communications strategiesContribute suggestions for increasing brand awareness using new technologies and methodsPerform any other duties as requested.Qualifications and competenciesHave completed at least two years of university studies within the past year, preferably in communications, journalism, media or graphic design and or any related field;Excellent spoken and written English;Experience in writing and editing skills for print and/or digital communication, including any academic experience in this area desirable;Advanced computer skills, familiarity with Apple environment including intermediate to advanced knowledge of working with graphic design software, as well as photo and video editing toolsExperience in working with animation and blogging would be desirable;Good organizational skills;Excellent eye for detail and attention to accuracy;Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet shifting deadlines;Interest in the work of the Crop Trust and issues relating to biodiversity conservation and food security.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.The Internship will be for a period of 3 months with possibility of renewal. Hours are negotiable. The 3-months Internship is unpaid. Depending on organizational needs and performance the intern may be extended on a temporary contract, which includes a stipend. The Intern must posses the right to live and work in Germany. Interns are required to possess health care coverage that is acceptable to the German authorities. The Crop Trust can provide information on an acceptable health care plan.The Internship offers young, outstanding undergraduate students (or recent graduates) an opportunity to acquire direct practical experience at the Crop Trust. As a Crop Trust Intern, you will be given specific tasks to carry out on your own under the guidance of a supervisor. This will give you an insight into the work of the Crop Trust and allow you to build your portfolio with clear outputs to demonstrate competency with hands-on experience of the working world. Through this experience you will gain experience in working with a multi- disciplinary team and learn about the day-to-day business of an international organization.
