The Pragma Corporation Job Vacancy in Kenya : Senior Trade Promotion Expert

The Pragma Corporation, a US based private international development consulting firm, is seeking for Senior Trade Promotion Expert candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded RFP entitled “East Africa Trade and Investment Hub (TIH)”.   The project’s goal will be to spur transformational economic growth in East Africa, including through trade and investment, by promoting regional integration and trade; expanding African capacity to effectively access and benefit from global markets; and encouraging U.S. companies to trade with and invest in Africa, excluding oil and extractive industries. TIH success will witness increased intra-regional and international trade resulting in economic growth that contributes to poverty reduction, strengthens the region’s resilience, and reinforces regional integration.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, strongly preferred Master’s degree or equivalent in international trade, economics, public policy, business administration, or related area or equivalent;At least ten years of relevant experience, five of which shall be in developing countries, preferably in East Africa;At least five years of experience (strongly preferred over five years’ experience) managing and coordinating promotion activities;Strongly preferred experience assisting developing countries supporting developing country firms export,particularly under preferential trade agreements such as AGOA;Strongly preferred experience serving in an advisory capacity to high-level government officials on achieving global competitiveness;Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional and private sector partners and stakeholders in a multi-country setting;Ability to use the latest ICT technology and computer software programs; andLevel IV equivalent of English writing, speaking and reading abilityHow to Apply
