Our Client:- Our market leading client supports organisations globally to succeed by enhancing the value and performance of projects and assets, during the construction and operation thereof in the Mining, petrochemical and Energy Industries.My client I looking for a Site Based Quantity Surveyor in Kenya (Lodwar) on Rotation 4/4 and later in project 8/2.To perform the role of the Commission Manager on medium sized projects, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service.Ensure that commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on timeDevelop good relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional teamWork as an effective member of the cost management team, including where appropriate, taking effective responsibility for Junior Quantity SurveyorsKey information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retainedAssisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reportsEstimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan. This may be completed with the assistance of the Senior Quantity SurveyorTendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, co-ordinating, compiling and managing the preliminaries and Bill of Quantities, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documentsDealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager / Senior Quantity SurveyorTaking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes placeProducing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the clientInputting into value engineering, as applicableNegotiating and agreeing final accountsInterfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesWhere appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilitiesEnsuring that QA/QC procedures are adhered to at all timesIdentify opportunities to develop new business with existing clientsIdentify ways in which cost management procedures, templates and products can be improved and referring ides to the appropriate line manager
Quantity Surveying Degree or DiplomaMinimum 4 years industry experience in quantity surveying positionsExcellent analytical, oral and written communication skillsExperience in the oil and gas industry, process plants and in particular structural, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation would be an advantage
