Senior M&E Officer, Monitoring

International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI) is seeking a Senior M&E Officer for its Monitoring and Evaluation Program for Somalia (MEPS) under USAID and DfID. This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with travel to Somalia required.The Senior M&E Officer position will be responsible for the execution and quality control of verifications conducted under the MEPS program, including research, planning, training, supervision, database management, quality control and report editing. The Senior M&E Officer will ensure the timely deployment of all program verifications throughout Somalia (for both USAID and DfiD funded activities) and the timely Nairobi-based quality control process by the verification team. The Senior M&E Officer will successfully manage their own portfolio of verifications while also monitoring the quality/timeliness of those done by other verifications team members.This supervisory role requires advanced organizational and leadership skills, in addition to sound judgment and a deep understanding of the verification process on the ground and the analysis that ensues. The Senior M&E Officer will manage a complex portfolio under the direct supervision of the Chief of Party due to the sensitivity and complexity of the task, while the day to day operations of the verification team will be under the care of the Senior M&E Officer. Close collaboration will be required among the verification team members. Previous M&E experience, Somali language skills and contextual understanding are critical to this position.Strong writing and planning/management skills should also be highlighted.International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc.
