Our client Is involved in processing of edible nuts, chocolates, wines, beef. Their operations are spread mainly in Central Kenya with two factories based in Thika.

The Financial Controller will work directly with the CFO, heading up the day to day financial activities including; preparation of month end accounts, VAT returns, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, audits and year end statutory accounts.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for setting and checking targets and monitoring the performance of each department within the business in line with their set budgets.

The Financial Controller role will implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.
Other responsibilities regularly assigned to the Financial Controller include payroll, and cover and the management of book debt.
Job Objective: Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems

Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cash Book, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and PayrollPrepare and publish timely monthly financial statementsPrepare and publish timely cashflow statementsResearch technical accounting issues for complianceSupport month-end and year-end close processEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reportingGuide the debt collection process and ensure all accounts are maintained within the approved credit limitsGuide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial policies and procedures.Maximize return, and limits risk, on cash by maintaining bank balances at their optimal level. Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Comply with state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in Accounting in a senior position in a large and busy organization with a minimum annual turnover of Kshs.750 millionSkills and Certification: Must be CPA(K) qualified (at least 10 years) and ICPAK registeredManaged a team of not less than 10 peopleMust have handled year end and KRA auditsVery good computer skills with extensive knowledge of excel, and accounting systems especially SAP.High level of integrity Good communication skills Team work/team building skills Track record of team leadership, and team supervision.Proven Numerical competenceEntrepreneur SkillsSelf-driven and with impeccable integrityAttention to detailTime managementHow to Apply
