Our client is a Microfinance Institution (MFI) that started operations in 2004 as a credit institution, was later granted a License by CBK in 2011 to become a deposit taking microfinance (DTM).
Ensure growth in their products i.e. Loans, Savings, Fixed Deposit Accounts, Forex, Trade Finance, Investment AdviceLead and Manage the Microfinance InstitutionProvide overall direction to the organization and ensure maximum outreach, sustainability and transformation of the Institutions operationsProvide expertise, information, advice and counsel concerning the affairs of the institution to the Board of DirectorsEnsure accountability to all stakeholdersDevelop and recommend corporate policies as well as short-term and long-term business plans for Board approval and implementationPosition the institution as a market leaderEnsure sustainable growth and long term viability in a competitive environmentBuilding the corporate culture of the InstitutionTraining and mentoring of staff Supervising Credit Operations, Business Development, Human Resources, IT & FinanceDeveloping and implementing investment strategies.Identifying investment opportunities and formulating business plans.Developing and managing savings and credit programs, loan originations and appraisal systems at the company's branches.Developing finance investment products & portfoliosMobilization and management of deposits and funds for onward lendingManaging relationships with customers and promote the companies brand and image.Organize, plan and implement effective staff training.Ensure compliance to company’s policies including regulatory and statutory compliance.Responsible for profitability and portfolio growthLead in identification and activation of new branchesMobilize adequate funds as a DTM and hence empower to depositors/borrowersEnsure the MFI is the most competitive and preferred in terms of customer satisfactionQualifications, Skills and ExperienceBachelors Degree in business preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or CommerceProfessional qualifications e.g. CPA, ACCA, ACIB will be an added advantage.Minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant experience in a financial institution or similar positionKnowledge of software application used in banking/DTM and experience in SME lendingGeneral knowledge of a wide range of micro banking products and servicesAdvanced knowledge of Retail Banking operations, industry products or servicesKnowledge of standard banking compliance, regulations, banking law, business law, employment and labor law, internal operations policies and procedures, and banking products and servicesExceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to third parties and employeesAbility to meet reporting expectations of the Board, investors and statutory bodiesExcellent decision making skillsStrong leadership and team building skill and experience with the ability to develop and maintain a Management teamExcellent organization, delegation, performance management, administration, analytical, influencing, negotiation and time management skillsYoung, dynamic entrepreneurGo getters, not scared to roll up their sleeves & get their hands dirty.Well presentedIf you are up to the challenge, posses the necessary qualification and experience, please send your CV only quoting the job title on the email subject (General Manager MFI) to vacancies@corporatestaffing.co.ke before 7th June, 2014
