Our client has launched an agricultural support program on Unlocking Agriculture Potential through Medium Sized Farms in Kenya, working with medium scale farmers in several agricultural value chains to improve incomes through agronomic and extension support aimed at improving their productivity and efficiency and to improve entrepreneurship among the farmers.
The program cuts across all nodes in the chain from production to market. This includes cross cutting initiatives such as access to inputs, finance, aggregation and storage, processing and marketing.The Senior Program Manager will oversee and be the lead contact in all aspects of the program.
The duties and responsibilities of this position fall into three broad categories: Leadership, Operations, and Administration.Operations;Oversee the planning and high quality, timely execution of this project;Plan for and execute robust monitoring and evaluation of program outputs and outcomes;Ensure cost-effective delivery of donor commitments; andContribute to the documentation and sharing of knowledge within the broader EGF community.Administration;Ensure high quality and timely donor reporting;Work with GM Finance to ensure effective management of the finances of the project, including budgets, adherence to effective internal financial procedures and review of quarterly financial reporting; andEnsure participation and compliance with all EGF corporate processes.Leadership;Select strategies and partnerships that most effectively contribute to achievement of the objectives of this project;Develop, inspire and enable a team of project staff, both EGF and partner seconded staff, to deliver high quality results,Effectively manage office functions to optimize cost-effectiveness;Establish and foster relationships with a broad network of practitioners, government representatives and business leaders, assimilating and contributing to new developments relevant to the project; andAct as principal liaison with the donor, as required.At least 10 years of relevant experience in the agricultural sectorProven Senior Program Manager experience in a similar sector.A Master’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant discipline.Strong program management skillsStrong focus on business analytics and performance.Prior experience working in emerging markets.Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships and networks with target clients and other partners.Be passionate about enterprise development and competitive business growthA good understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation principles is an added advantageAbility to travel up to 60% of time.Interested candidates holding the necessary requirements, good performance and / or references are encouraged to apply with detailed CV’s, inclusive of names and contacts of 3 referees, current telephone number and email address by clicking on: Senior Program Manager
