Assistant Engineer II (Water) at County Government of Kericho

ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS The county is composed of six Constituencies, 15 administrative divisions namely: Ainamoi,Belgut, Kabianga, Bureti, Roret, Cheborge, Sigowet and Soin. Other Admibnistrative Divisions are: Kunyak, Chilchila, Kamasian, Kipkelion, Londiani, Sorget and Chepseon. These are further su-devided into 85 locations that are further sub-divided into 209 sub-locations. It covers an area of2,479 sq. km.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Specific duties and responsibilities

• Carrying out feasibility studies;


• Planning and designing water supply and supply and sewerage infrastructure;


• Carrying out research activities in various aspects of water, sewerage and hydraulic systems;


• Assisting in developing project proposals;


• Assisting in preparation of drawings, cost estimates, and Bill of Quantities for water and sanitation projects;


• In charge of project implementation as a project Engineer and site supervision;


• Assist in preparation of technical andproject progress reports from time to time;


• Assist in evaluating tenders for works projects;


• Oversee management of entrusted County Resources


• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must: –

• Be in possession of a Bachelor Degree in Civil or Water Engineering from a recognized institution;


• Have Proficiency in computer applications skills;


• Must be a graduate Engineer.
