The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 by His Excellency the President. EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in 1947 as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1968. In 1990, it was upgraded to be Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College whose mandate was to develop and implement short management and technical courses, and offer research and consultancy services to enhance performance in the agricultural sector.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
LECTURER (LAW)
- Requirements will be the same as for lecturer above, however; applicants with Master of Laws (LL.M) degree or its equivalent who have at least three (3) years University teaching experience and have at least 24 publication points, 16 of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals will also be considered.
TUTORIAL FELLOW – GRADE 11
- Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree of at least Second Class Upper Division and a Master’s degree from a recognized university in the area of specialty. In addition, applicants must be registered for a PhD degree and have made substantial progress in their PhD studies.
- Evidence of progress made in the PhD studies (e.g. PhD progress report) MUST be submitted with the application.
